Area
Staithes is a peaceful fishing village, tucked away and well protected from the sea. It is a picturesque village with a small harbour draped with fishing nets. However, it has a tempestuous and fascinating past, involving great storms, tales of smugglers and pirates, of the Armada and of Captain Cook, of great fishing fleets and the enormous ironstone industry. The cottage in which Captain Cook lived when he was apprenticed in the town still stands and there is a heritage centre dedicated to his story.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Perfect cottage couldn’t have been better.. Christine and Brian were excellent the best owners we have ever come across. The area was perfect for us and our dog. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a holiday at Street House Farm Cottage.

This was my second visit to Street House Farm Cottage and it was every bit as good as the first - ideal accommodation and location for me and my dog.. Having such lovely owners as Christine and Brian near at hand is a bonus. We will be back!

This is a fantastic little cottage. It is ideally located for exploring the North East coast and has everything you need for a brilliant week away. The cottage is beautifully decorated, comfortable and has everything you could need. The owners were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. It is perfectly suited for a couple wanting to explore the area. The location of the cottage is close enough to local amenities for anything you may need but is also far enough away to feel like you are far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It takes a few minutes walk from the cottage to get onto the Cleveland Way, and Staithes and Skinningrove are half an hour walk away. We cannot fault it and will be going back at some point.

The cottage was fabulous and was exactly what we were after.. The location is ideal, close enough to amenities for anything needed but far enough away to feel like you're getting away from everything. It's perfectly situated for walking and exploring the North East coast. Brian and Christine were brilliant. They were friendly, helpful and provided plenty of useful and interesting information about the surrounding area. The cottage was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The only fault I can find is that we had to leave.

Excellent location particularly for moderate walkers.. Christine and Brian are most friendly and helpful and kept us supplied with eggs from their own Chickens. Cottage is equipped with everything necessary and heating worked well. The open fire is a nice touch but was not necessary for comfort. Highly recommended.

This cottage was comfy, clean and homely, in a perfect quiet location for my dog and me - lots of walking from the doorstep with more further afield if I wanted to drive.. To have such nice owners as Christine & Brian near to hand, is a comfort when one is a widowed pensioner on their own. Time went too quickly and with more to explore, I have already booked to return.

A lovely cottage in an equally lovely area , excellent for access to the Cleveland Way and an absolute joy to dog owners/ walkers .. close to some stunning beaches and also some hidden gems , Skinningrove beach being one of them . For anyone interested in star gazing or astronomy there is zero light pollution . The cottage owners , Christine and Brian live next door and are very helpful . We will certainly be going back again

Be useful to have a picture of bunk bed room included.. It's confusing that the listing did say no children but a bunk bed room would suggest otherwise. Street House Cottage is a homely property ideally situated in a peaceful location to explore the North Yorkshire Coast and Moors. Highly recommended.
