Goldings is a comfortable, excellently located bungalow and the owner, Sue, was very helpful and approachable, being able to contact her even over Christmas.. Wells is a very nice city with a beautiful cathedral, all easily accessible on foot from the bungalow, with an easy to follow short cut route laid out in the accommodation's details. Cake and tea on arrival was a nice touch

Our stay was in early December, and understandably the bungalow was cold when we arrived.. We were kindly greeted by the owner and shown around, given suggestions of where to visit etc etc The chocolate cake was a very welcoming treat. The bungalow soon heated up, and was very comfortable for the rest of our stay. The area is quiet. The cottage is within walking distance of the centre of Wells, though we chose to drive and park at Waitrose. We will return in the warmer months to look at the Cathedral grounds and park in all its beauty. The Cathedral itself is superb. The outlet village st Street near Glastonbury is huge. We also benefitted from Christmas markets in Bath - our first visit to Bath. I'm glad we decided to use the park and ride. Free parking and bus passes made the travelling free too. We will need to go to Bath again when we revsisit Wells. All in all, a very comforatble stay for a long weekend in the first week of Advent.

Lovely cake, tea and coffee on arrival.. Area is nice and quiet and garden enclosed so great for the dog. Easy 10-15 min walk into the City. Bungalow was more that we expected clean tidy and warm. The folder with details about the area (even telling you way to walk into town was helpful) lots of ideas on places to visit in and around Wells is such a good idea for newbies to the area.

A lovely bungalow which was equipped with everything you would need for a enjoyable holiday.. It was a 10 minute walk to the city centre. The owner was extremely helpful, leaving lots of information about the local area and had cake and tea facilities waiting for us after our long journey

Very clean, comfortable and well located bungalow- in a quiet cul-de-sac, a short walk into Wells.. We found everything we needed in the bungalow and particularly enjoyed relaxing/playing in the sunny garden. Wells has lots to offer in terms of attractions and places to eat and drink, and we also enjoyed visiting Cheddar Gorge and the Somerset Levels. The owner was very welcoming and quick to respond to queries, and we hope to stay there again.

Several little things that could improve the comfort of Goldings - I think I read about them in previous reports.. Having a young person with us, it needs to provide WIFI. A coat stand or coat hooks in the hall would be very useful, as would a shelf for shower bottles. It catered for five and there was exactly five of everything in the kitchen, a few extra spares would be useful. It stated that it was five minutes walk into the town. At 80, I found it was an uphill walk and took a bit longer than that! It was clean and warm but just needed a bit of tweaking!! We did enjoy our stay despite everything and our dealings with Sykes was very good and would use them again.

We enjoyed a very pleasant 3 day break at Goldings and found the bungalow had everything that we needed.. Plenty of interesting places to visit nearby such as Wells cathedral and several N.T. properties.

Great location.. Excellent accommodation for a family (no WiFi but they survived! ) Great that dog can come. Sue (owner) left us a great Christmas Tree which was very thoughtful. And welcome pack. Would definitely recommend as a great holiday base to visit beautiful Wells and Somerset.

One of those locations where nobody had obviously lived in property.. ie no hooks on bathroom door, minimal kitchen equipment etc - adequate but just missing the extra touch. The provisions left thoughtful though - tea, coffee, cake, milk and salt, pepper, vinegar etc, washing up supplies good. Perfectly OK for 3 nights, bit minimal for a week. Good value for money though

The owner was very friendly and most helpful, explaining to us how to find interesting places to visit, shops, etc.. We booked on the day and she made sure everything was ready for us and waited for us to arrive quite late!
