Adjacent is the beautiful 12th century cathedral situated within a most attractive cathedral close and green. The surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty provides a wealth of scenic footpaths and rugged landscapes, and is a superb base for caving and rock climbing, and for road, biking and mountain biking. Nearby are the attractions of Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole Caves, both offering great days out. The picturesque Somerset Levels, as well as mystical Glastonbury are also situated an easy drive away. The beautiful city of Bath, with its Roman Baths, Thermae Bath Spa, The Theatre Royal and wonderful shops, is under 30 miles away, as is the vibrant city of Bristol, which boasts a multitude of attractions, including The Zoo, Theatres, the Aquarium, the Arnol Fini Art Gallery and many more. All in all, this beautiful city makes a convenient and ideal touring base. With so much to see and do, there is something to keep everyone entertained!
