Orchard Cottage is a welcoming barn conversion with views over the countryside, half a mile from Washford. There is a double and a twin room, a wet room and an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Outside is a private lawned garden plus a hot tub and verandah, and off road parking for one car. Orchard Cottage is a wonderful family base for enjoying Dunster, Minehead, the West Somerset Steam Railway and Exmoor. Please note - charging for electric cars is not permitted. Charging available in Minehead (10 mins away).

All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin, both with TV. Wet room with shower, basin and WC. Open plan living area with fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Hot tub.

Area
Washford is a Somerset village between Minehead and Bridgwater, two miles from the port of Watchet. There are many villages to explore including Porlock, Dunster and the busy resort of Minehead.

Region
Somerset offers 3 areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the Quantock, Mendip and Blackdown Hills. Lose yourself in the glory of nature, take a ride on a steam train, visit a traditional farmers' market or explore your mystical side at Glastonbury.

After a few stressful months we were the first family back in after lock down and I can hand on heart 100% assure all future visitors that the cottage and the wider site were spotlessly clean and maintained to a high standard. The hot tub was deep cleaned, as you would expect, between each booking but it was also cleaned each morning, ensuring it was as clean on our last day as day one. We were here for a week and the weather was fair all week with a couple of glorious days. Watchet is a lovely harbour town, the kids loved both the ice-cream and the crabbing in equal amounts. We had our dog with us and with this and certain restrictions still in place, activities were limited for us. We did use Somerset Adventures to do an Escape the Woods (think Escape Room), it was huge amounts of fun, even though we needed an embarrassing amount of clues from Ben who ran the activity. The games in the cottage were also used lots with Battleships and Rummikub being our favourites. Clearly we were also in the hot tub regularly too! I would highly recommend the White Horse Inn nearby. It is a beautiful pub set alongside the river; friendly, good value and the food was nice too! Overall an excellent holiday with some most lovely memories made, thank you to Lynn, Lloyd and the team!

This was our third time staying in Orchard Cottage and was as enjoyable as ever.. There was however one fly in the ointment, a rather large one. On previous visits we were able to enjoy the views from our balcony but two lodges have now been built in front of the cottage blocking those views, in fact looking out through the patio doors all you see is the side of one of the lodges. Its understandable that new lodges are being built it is a buisness afterall but it is a shame it was at the expense of what was beautiful views. Having said that we still had a wonderful time and would most likely stay there again in the future.

We arrived Saturday afternoon to be immediately greeted by young lady called Gemma.. Gemma showed us around went through how everything worked including the Hot Tub. It’s very peaceful & the wild life is great we even got to see a woodpecker. Very central to everything & Whatchit is wonderful little harbour. Also just around the corner there is the Cider farm. Again another must visit. Everyone is friendly & very helpful. We would definitely go back & recomend this wonderful place to both friends & family. We hope to go back later on this year

Lovely accommodation (Orchard Cottage) quiet, not overlooked.. Clean, warm. Open plan, well equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms, comfy beds. Wet room with underfloor heating a treat. Hot tub the best. Gemma and Lloyd really welcoming and helpful. Ideally placed for all the sights of north Somerset, busy days, relaxing in the tub at night, bliss! Highly recommended

The lodging was nice as well as the hot tub.. The major problem I had was in leaving. The message that checkout was at 10:00 am was delivered in several notices and in person the day before departure but because of a snow storm a day and half earlier I couldn't leave the property because you didn't plow the entrance road or driveway. I realize this snow storm was very unusual but you had a full day and half to arrange to have someone plow. I ended up shoveling out the driveway myself just so i could meet my plane. This took over 3 hours and it should have been your responsibility to clear your drive to the road, not mine. You shared several times your concern about how are the new guests going to get in yet very little concern over how I was going to leave.

We rang the owner who came out and guided us there. The cottage and its location was spot on; one of the best we've stayed in. The wildlife was a joy to watch especially the squirrels and a pheasant (we called him Dave) that waited outside for some bread. Minehead, Taunton and a host of other attractions were all within easy driving distance. We are already thinking of booking again for next year.

A very clean comfortable cottage. Plenty to do locally - mountain biking, swimming, kayaking etc. - and at the end of the day to come back to a hot tub was fantastic ...

We had the best relaxed holiday there, it is set in the orchard so you have sun and shade ,and so peaceful with lots of wild life around .. The owner is so helpful if you need anything he is there straight away and that is so good nowadays .The hot tub was first class and cleaned each day and emptied at end of your stay and filled for the next person to take over so nice to know it is clean .Thank you for a lovely 2 weeks.

The hot tub was the attraction and it did not disappoint. My sister and I loved it. The huge wall of windows was a special pleasure, as we could watch the wildlife with impunity. Special favourites were the pheasants, incredibly nosy birds, peering in at us. The tub was serviced every day without fail, which we have not found with other hot tub properties, so we were very pleased. Have wonderful photos. It really is an experience, and one we intend to repeat when there is a week available. Area abounds with interest and we look forward to our next visit.

Could not fault this cottage. Very bright and modern.Only thing that is needed is more crockery there is only 4 of everything.Shower was nice and the hot tub was a bonus.
