The house is set on a hillside, with an amazing view of Dulverton and the surrounding hillsides.. It was much larger than I thought - a truly comfortable and well renovated house that accommodated two families wonderfully. Thank you for the care and attention to details, we had a perfect holiday.

What a brilliant property! Such a good spot, so lovingly restored, and with lots of extra, thoughtful touches. The owner was very helpful with information in advance. We don't often go back to a place, as there are so many great places to explore, but we'd definitely come back here.

Efficiency and honesty of Sykes on telephone.. House arrangements very clear. Wonderful house and good value.

Just a couple of suggestions.. We were 10 adults, which the house caters for, but 2 of the single beds were definitely for children, with towels to match. These beds weren’t comfortable for adults and need to be upgraded. The towels should also be adult size, when catering for adults only. Otherwise the house is beautiful and so tastefully renovated with a glorious setting...even with the weather we had! Stunning!

The house and facilities were lovely, the only thing that we would say is that the location on a very steep hill was a challenge and it is not an easy walk into the town for anyone who has limited mobility..

The Mount is a beautiful house in a wonderful setting on Exmore.. The house is generously equipped with high quality furnishings, equipment and kitchen needs We had 4 children ranging in age from 5 to 10 years and the play room provided them with endless fun and things to do. We felt the owners had thought of everything to make the house comfortable and a delight to spend our holiday in. We strongly recommend it and send thanks.

Beautiful house in excellent village location.. Very spacious for large groups. Just need to take care with young children due to drops in small garden

The house was perfect for our group of six adults with plenty of room to relax away from the group while reading a book from the extensive library or sitting in the garden, as well as great community areas for getting together.. The view across the village is beautiful. We had a couple of great evenings around the fire pit cooking sausages and marshmallows. Nearby Dulverton is a beautifully quaint village with friendly people in the local shops. The local restaurants are good and worth a visit on the nights you don’t want to cook. A small warning, the walk up to the house is pretty steep so if you’re used to flat ground it’s a shock to the system but you do get used to it after the first couple of goes. The basement rooms were great for video gaming and the sound doesn’t bleed through too much to the ground floor rooms and not at all to the upstairs rooms (if you have night owls in your group) . Minehead has great beaches, it will take at least 30mins to get there contrary to the sat navs opinion of 20mins this is because cars drive generally slower on the bendy roads (they actually should on these, so just relax and enjoy the views). All in all we had a perfect week and would recommend this house to anyone.

The Mount is in a spectacular situation and the walk down to Dulverton was no problem for us OAP's.. The return journey up the hill was a little more difficult but we all managed! There are plenty nearby good walks/strolls from the house. Dulverton is also very convenient with the Bridge Inn so near! We would certainly recommend this holiday home to larger groups of friends or families ( there were 8 of us ). A wonderful area.

Lovely spacious house, very well equipped, everything you need in kitchen, loads if toys for all ages, games, books and dvds.. Great views. Kids had a lovely time jusy playing in the house as weather was very rainy. There is garden (but steep drops so need to watch young kids playing) and a play park a few mins walk from house too. It was no problem for us but as it says in the description be aware that there is a very steep road to house. House recently renovated so nice modern kichen and bathrooms. Some furniture is a bit tired but is in keeping with house style and did not affect our enjoyment of the house and holiday. Owners very lovely and helpful.

We stayed at The Mount fro a week this summer as a family of five spanning three generations. The house was superb - hugely spacious, very well equipped, spotlessly clean and absolutely beautifully decorated. Helpful Holidays were indeed very helpful throughout the booking process and up to the start of the holiday but oddly I didn't get a welcome home email with a request to review and I had to ask about the process to return the damage deposit. No matter, the house was fantastic with two huge sitting rooms, a huge dining room, a study equipped with a vast number of books and games, a beautiful and well equipped kitchen with a lovely NEFF hob and double oven (though if you use a whisk, take your own as I couldn't find one, but it's the ONLY thing I didn't find). There are five spacious bedrooms, two with en suite and a lovely family bathroom upstairs. There's the biggest downstairs loo you have ever seen on the ground floor and in the basement (quite steep stairs) there is a games room with TV and Wii, a full size table tennis table (through the space around it is a little limited you can still have a lot of fun) a table football table and a laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and iron. The house has good wifi but no mobile phone coverage. Outside there is room for several cars and a small lawn with delightful views of Dulverton and wooden tables and chairs. The drive up to the house from Oldberry lane isn't for the faint hearted, especially if you arrive in the dark. The owner did call and prepare us for this, and she rightly said that if you drive up in first gear you will make it, but in the dark, if you don't know the way up, you do burn a bit of clutch. The owner said that they planned to tarmac the drive, and this will help! The Bridge pub is within walking distance if you don't mind the short but steep climb back up to the house. The food is great but do book in advance! Dulverton itself has a co-op and a butcher so it's easy to eat in. Tiverton a few miles away has a large supermarket. We had a great week at The Mount and I recommend ti to anyone!

We stayed here as a family of 3 generations ranging from 4 to 72. This House has wonderful views across Dulverton and the surrounding hills. It is a real home from home, very clean and very well furnished, you don't need to take anything with you except your clothes as everything is catered for. The study has enough books and games for all ages, more than you can read or play with. The wifi was good, the games room with table tennis, football table and a wii console with a few games, kept the children amused, from the 4 year olds to the 45 year olds! The kitchen is really well equipped as is the utility room down in the cellar. The bedrooms are a great size two of them are ensuite. You can tell the owners regularly use the property as it is genuinely a home from home. I can't recommend this property enough! The surrounding area: The Bridge pub is just a short, although very steep walk and very welcoming. The co-op store has all the essentials and is open until at least 10 pm most nights. The Chip Shop has very, very slow service! It took 40 minutes wait to get our order! I think they are new to the business, although the food was good when you eventually got it. There is a children's play area very close by, a short walk along the stream, but not close enough to let the children go alone. Dunster Village and the castle are worth a visit and all the major Supermarkets can be found in Minehead a 20-30min drive from Dulverton.
