This was our second visit to Nathaniel's Cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.. The key pick up was straightforward. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Although sited in the centre of Kirkcudbright, it was quiet too. We had some lovely meals out including at the Selkirk Arms and also at The Auld Alliance where the staff went the extra mile for my son's birthday - the meal was outstanding too. Plenty to do round and about. - villages to visit and lots of pleasant walks. Enjoyed a visit to Threave Gardens and Castle Douglas. The King's Arms iin Castle Douglas is worth a visit for a meal. We would stay here again.

Cottage was not very clean, had an ant problem due to cupboard by cooker being dirty and sauce bottles left there.. Cutlery drawer was poorly positioned under cooker and drawer beneath that difficult to open.

We had to leave a day early because of a national cycling event.. The street parking was restricted on our last day. Streets around closed. No warning from Sykes at all. Caretaker informed us Wednesday by note. Danger of car being towed away. Cottage fine, area great, won't use Sykes again.

Excellent position, close to everything in town and with Tesco's just yards away.. We didn't think the side garden was useable at all as it's quite steep, maybe it could be terraced, to give some flat areas but as we were only two people the little patio was adequate.

Good cottage in excellent location shame about the low sofas but otherwise we'll kitted out with all you need.. We found the outside space perfectly adequate

The location pf the cottage was below our expectation, with having noviews on the back- being blocked by a high retaining wall and also the front view was of a road junction.. We had stayed in much better cottages here with gardens and open views at much lower prices! Also there was no garden as such, only a cramped courtyard with unusable garden furniture- these need painting and renovation. Inside the cottage was clean and satisfactory, but the price was rather high for the standard. We will not re-visit this cottage.

First cottage holiday ever, usually stayed in caravans, so it was far easier not having to take the bedding , towels etc.. By the way loved the log fire, really homely and thanks once again to Grace the cleaning lady she was great . Thank You.

This holiday cottage was great and I would book it again.. Beds were superb. Future guest please note mobile reception and wifi speed were very good. Lots and lots of extras included in good working order. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Feed back for Sykes - -Hi i do not understand why you fail to promote the wifi speed and mobile phone reception for your cottages. The wi fi in this cottage was exceptional and if such information was available on your site , would have been the key reason to book.

The house was very nice and close to town.. The only thing we suggested which could be improved was the thick winter duvet on the bed might have been better changed to a summer duvet !! We noted it in the book they provided. Every thing else was super.

We were dissapointed in the on street parking, it should have been clearer in your description, that thge road was very narrow.. one day we could not drive down as one of the neighbors had parked into the road, it was a bit worrying leaving our brand new car at night.

Lovely cottage, which is home from home from the minute you walk through the front door.. From Goodies in the fridge, the bacon n sausage were delicious, thankyou, to helpful hints in various places around the cottage. The flower filled courtyard at the side of the cottage is a little suntrap. The beds are extremely comfortable and the bathroom and it’s under floor heating, a treat to use. The thoughtful gesture of the gift voucher for Castle Street Bistro, was used and much appreciated. Will be returning

We had a lovely few days in Kirkcudbright and the weather matched the forecast.. A lovely cottage close to the centre of the town with a supermarket within a three minute walk. The cottage had all the facilities we required and was in a quiet area. The surrounding area was superb. We particularly enjoyed the red kite feeding experience and the lovely views and coast line. A very enjoyable time!
