Il Colombaino

We had an incredible stay at Holiday House Il Colombaino. It felt like a dream location because it was close enough to Florence but far enough away. We chose to rent a vehicle, but we could have easily utilized the local transit system to get in and out of the city to access Florence. A. was an incredible host and very communicative. The space overall was even larger than we thought it would be, and we loved the child friendly space behind the villa. We would absolutely choose to stay again

The house did not match the description. Garden neglected and no kids pool. As already reported in a separate email.

The house is in a very quiet location. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The train takes you to the center of Florence in a short time and very cheaply. The kitchen is fully equipped, there is nothing missing. We would definitely come back.

The B&B seemed unused for a long time: cold and books from six months earlier. The boiler kept jumping on and off. Only after 2 days we could warm up to 20°. There were pans in the cupboard with the grease still in them. The cooking utensils were mostly old. All the metal in the bathroom was partly corroded. One of the bedrooms had a pungent cigarette stench. The owners spoke only Italian. The settlement was a surprise as XXXX only indicated gas as still to be paid: €200!
