This eco-conscious home is just how you'd wish for an escape to the countryside – close to Bath, yet set in peaceful woodland, with wildlife to spot by day and stargazing at night. The family dog can come along too, making it easy to spend your days on long walks around the estate and beyond. Back at home, start your morning with coffee outside in privacy and end it with family games before ending it in the tub – exactly how a country retreat should be. All that's missing is a good book and nowhere to be.

Home truths:
*Parts of the wider estate are still under construction here. Some building activity may be visible, but it shouldn’t affect your stay.
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.
*Well-behaved pets are welcome to accompany you during your stay.
*The home is located on a former quarry, so it can be quite muddy here – be sure to bring wellies or walking shoes.
*For security, your host will require all guest names and vehicle registration numbers in advance.
*There’s parking for up to two cars at the house and two at reception.
*Hen and stag parties are strictly not allowed at this home.
*All of the bedrooms are located upstairs, so this home may not suit those with reduced mobility.
