My husband and I love staithes, and have friends that live there, the cottage was very clean and comfortable but we found it was very dark due to lack of windows and surrounded by taller cottages so no views from anywhere in the cottage , we also had to have the heating on most of the time whilst we were there as the house felt very cold and damp due to lack of daylight coming through the windows.. Also we didn't like having 8 rubbish bins directly outside the property it was an eyesore and possible health hazard during the summer months, most of the bins belonged to other properties and also the sweet shop on the other side of the road !!!!!

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Old Cottage in the friendly village of Staithes.. The only concern we had was the kitchen smelt like it needed a good clean. As we weren't eating in the cottage we didn't made a deal out of it. Local pubs serve very good value meals throughout the day.

What an absolutely fantastic holiday! ! The olde cottage was beyond expectations really, beautifully furnished, equipped to the teeth and situated in the heart of the village!! In fact it was that good we stayed on an extra night! Wonderful dealing with all the people concerned and Sykes app and booking etc very simple and easy to use, myself, Linda and Dennis the greyhound will definitely be back!!
