A fantastic job has been done on this cottage, loads of little nooks and crannies for storage.
We did enquire about what we needed to take and told ‘everything’, as it’s self-catering, but when we got there we found washing up liquid, cloths, cleaning materials, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee and sugar, plus more! We took a couple of mugs, but didn’t need them as there was plenty of crockery and cutlery (useful as there was a dishwasher), and loads of pots, pans and baking trays.
We took a thin duvet with us – glad we did as the one supplied was quite thick.
Staithes is a lovely village, very friendly. Two pubs – we preferred the Cod and Lobster. There is the Captain Cook (up the ‘killer’ hill).
Co-op good for shopping (but at the top of the hill!), the butcher in the village (open mornings) also sells milk, bread, papers, pies and fruit and veg.
We opted for the “private” Glen Vale car park (£6/day) because we didn’t fancy yomping up the hill to feed the meter but have now found that you can do it online (ringgo).
