Area
North York Moors National Park borders Kirkbymoorside, a beautiful old market town located between Helmsley and Pickering. Located in the heart of the countryside, it exudes a distinct sense of place that can only be found in a site like this in the Yorkshire Dales. On Wednesdays, there is a weekly market where visitors may find a range of establishments, from cafes and restaurants to antique shops. National Park walking trails and scenic villages like Hutton-le-Hole and Lastingham are just a short drive away. Visitors to the region should not miss a trip on the North York Moors Steam Railway, which departs from Pickering. From Castle Howard, you can easily reach York, Whitby and the Yorkshire Coast.
