Great house for us to explore Minehead and beyond from.. The bedrooms were really comfortable and quiet. The multiple bathrooms/showers came in very handy with 4 adults. The kitchen is a great size and had just about everything we needed. The garden was lovely to sit in of an evening. Would highly recommend. You need to take things like cling film, tin foil and your own condiments as in Covid related times it wouldn't work to leave them behind for other guests. There are plenty of shops nearby to get everything you need. There were some lovely really personal touches - the chocolates were the best i have ever tasted and the selection of different teas a lovely idea. There is a great curry house nearby in Alcombe that is definitely worth a visit or a takeaway. We had our two children who are adults and wheelchair users and it was very easy to be able to push them into town as it is lovely and flat. All in all a great stay.

There was a problem with the heating downstairs and the hot water supply on the last day or so.. My daughter-in-law left a message for the owner as it was quite difficult getting everyone up and ready on the last morning when there was no hot water. This did not happen the last time we came so it must have been a "one off". We hope so and that it can be fixed before the next people come.
.
As regards the heating, we found that it was not very efficient downstairs and had to put on the gas fires even though the weather was relatively mild.
We did appreciate the Christmas decorations which were much more plentiful than last time and added to our enjoyment.. We all enjoyed the house itself and its facilities; it is a good place for a larger party and my grandson wants to come again in 2 years time when it's our turn to spend Christmas with the family. Thank you, too, for the welcome tray of goodies! Minehead is great for Christmas with its seafront and also the grounds at Dunster Castle to walk off Christmas food!
One thing that would help us would be to have a wash basin in each bedroom; the upstairs bathroom is relatively small for 4 bedrooms and its occupants. Otherwise a lovely place to stay.

The ideal choice for a family with young children as everything is so close to hand and within walking distance .. Lily house was very well equipped and one of the most comfortable that we have stayed in during the last 30 years or so.
Highly recommended.

We had a comfortable stay at Lily house.. We were 6 adults and 2 children. The rooms are good sized and the kitchen well equipped. The front garden is lovely but the back garden is a bit small.
We found the rent is a bit expensive especially that the toilets are bit rough and need redecoration. Also some of the furniture was quite old. Overall, I would give the cottage 3.5/5.

Very spacious house located within easy reach of the beach and supermarkets.. We arrived to a lovely welcome gift and a wealth of extras to help make the stay enjoyable. These included a barbecue, swing ball and a large Connect 4 for outdoors activities, and Wii console, dvds and games for the evenings. Very well equipped kitchen including a coffee machine and a wide range of coffee pods and herbal teas. Plates and bowls for picnics were also provided. Cot, stair gate and high chair available. Very comfortable beds with high quality linen and towels. One off road parking space but no problem getting additional free parking on the road. Some noise from road as bedrooms not double glazed. Would definitely book again if returning to the area.

Where improvements could be made:-
1.. The instructions to find the house were not easy. We needed to turn RIGHT into King George Road and the house was on the RIGHT HAND corner as we turned in. (We saw the left hand part of King George Road and turned left which was wrong but as there were no instructions....!)
2.Although there were 3 Christmas trees only ONE was of a good size and apart from a lovely wreath on the front door there were no room decorations at all which was disappointing. We have often rented houses at Christmas which have been decorated but these decorations were a bit minimal.
3.As regards equipment, the kitchen knives were not at all sharp. Fortunately we brought some of our own otherwise there would have been a problem.
Praise:- Generally we loved the house and there was so much room. The bedrooms were particularly well furnished and appointed. We also loved the spacious kitchen especially the coffee machine. Please will you give our thanks to the owners who left a very generous tray of gifts for us. We much appreciated this!

We're a family of five (three children under 6) and have recently returned from a great break at Lily House in Minehead. The accommodation is very spacious with two living rooms (one for the kids, one for the grown-ups!), plenty of dvds & games and a large, homely kitchen/diner with a fully equipped utility room larger than many kitchens! Bedrooms are all a generous size and the house is tastefully decorated throughout. We were only a short walk from the seafront (great for rock-pooling/crabbing with the kids), there's a little playground at the bottom of the road, a good curry house around the corner and a few pubs nearby. We explored some of the beautiful Exmoor countryside (saw some wild ponys), enjoyed a lovely pub lunch at the Luttrel Arms in the very picturesque Dunster and ventured further to Porlock (great cheese shop there called The Big Cheese, but I'd avoid the scrumpy they sell!) I'd recommend a trip to Kilve Beach for some great fossil hunting and a cream tea in the quirky tearoom there. Butlins holiday park is only a 5 minute drive from the house and I understand you can buy day tickets. We enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing break and I'd recommend Lily House to anyone. Many thanks from the Clark family!

In an excellent location, an easy walk to town and numerous places to eat. Lily House is spacious, with plenty of room for two families. The beds were very comfortable, we slept very well, and the living rooms were comfortable. There was a generous supply of DVDs books and games.

We stayed for a week as a family group: my husband and I, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, I was pleased to have found a comfortable property that could accommodate us all as we wanted - double beds for both couples (in fact one was king-size and the other super-king) and facilities for a young baby. We had a very comfortable week in this welcoming, roomy, house, plenty of room for us all not to feel on top of each other. It was clean and had everything we needed to self-cater. There were even fresh lilies when we arrived. It was an easy (flat) walk into town where there were numerous good places to eat or have a coffee, and a short-cut through the park at the end of the road took us to the supermarkets. The beach was walkable too, so we only used the car to go further afield. Highly recommended :-)
