The market towns of Richmond, Leyburn, Hawes and Barnard Castle are all within 15 miles making Gunnerside a scenic and central base from which to tour the Dales.

Awful uncomfortable sofa and shower which trickled out!

Wonderful cottage very well renovated and altered a few years ago, very warm and cosy and very well equipped in a fairly remote part of Swaledale, but only a few miles from Reeth and Muker and a mile from Gunnerside.. Wonderful scenery and wildlife and plenty of walks within easy reach. Friendly ducks from the adjoining property were regular daily visitors. Looking forward to a return visit. Lovely cottage with everything we needed in an isolated quiet spot, yet close to local amenities.. Pheasants and ducks in the garden (and sheep if you did not shut the gate properly!) Only one thing to be wary of, it is not for the less abled, uneven path and steep stairs could catch out the unwary, the drive needed careful negotiation otherwise was perfect.
