Le Bore (CNG123) Holiday Home 4 Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Tuscany

We traveled with our parents and were looked after very kindly by R. and D. The holiday home is very tastefully furnished and decorated, new kitchen and comfortable beds. The surroundings are spectacular, from the view to the animal noises (tawny owl). Only recommendation: the kitchen equipment could be expanded a bit to accommodate the number of potential guests (cutlery, larger cups and glasses).

Super nice view and a house where everything you need is there. Authentic yet modern in terms of equipment. Richard, his wife and daughter Bianca are very friendly helpful hosts!! Only the way to the house is challenging. Contact the owner in advance to choose the right route. That saves a lot.

The house is very nice and fits the description. The care provided by the landlord "Richard" was also very nice. The location is to be considered. It is very quiet but also secluded in the mountains. The nearest supermarket (Conad in Gallicans) is 9 km = almost 20 minutes over very winding serpentines. In the village itself (Sassi) there is a quaint little restaurant, in Molazzana (5 km) there is a baker, but unfortunately he was on vacation parallel to us (2nd half of August). Otherwise clear recommendation.

We rented both cottages for our summer vacation with friends. Nothing was missing, especially the house Il Boschetto, newly built in 2019, was very well equipped. The pool is large and the views across the valley to Gallicano/Barga are superb. There are a total of 3 approaches to the house. During the holiday we first had to test which is the best for the respective car. Small cars with a short wheelbase and high ground clearance are best suited.

We had rented the entire property with four families and it was a wonderful and relaxing holiday. The apartments are furnished with great attention to detail. The garden is well maintained and there is a large pool. The location is fantastically beautiful, far away from tourism. The journey is not easy, narrow and winding roads, but the view makes up for it! There are good hiking opportunities. The nearest large city is Lucca, approx. 60 minutes driving time by car.
