With plenty of trails, you can savour the fresh air on woodland and moorland walks as you explore this side of Whitby.

For the beach, drive five minutes to the town centre and walk from there to stroll alongside the blue flag beach of West Cliff. Stop off at a pub for a quintessential pint and lunch before going on to explore the east bank of Whitby. Here you’ll find the famous steps to the Church of Saint Mary. Reward yourself with a bit of boutique shopping after you’ve climbed all 199 steps up and then come down them again.

Come home with fish and chips to enjoy at the dining table or in the little breakfast nook. Pour a glass of wine and read curled up on the sofa or grab the snack and get comfortable for a movie night. Play games of charades, build a puzzle on the living room floor, or simply enjoy each other’s company as you devour a cheese board.
