Mr Holmes
September 2020
Wi-fi worked for about the first 24 hrs, thereafter not at all.. Not the end of the world, but irritating. It's too dim in the bathroom. Main light was dull; the mirror over the wash basin had two vertical strips of lights built in, one on either side. The left hand one of these had slipped over to about 45 degrees, and had gone behind the front of the mirror, reducing the light. May be tricky to fix, but needs doing. The place was clean and well-appointed and suited my needs very well. The neighbours are very close on one side, and the easy visibility into each others front rooms was a bit disconcerting. For a bit of privacy, the curtains needed pulling across a bit. Not a big problem though, and they were friendly enough.

It was extremely well positioned and very well equipped.. The parking spot is a little tight but ok once sorted out. The only downside was a slight musty smell which has lingered on some of our belongings since returning home. This maybe due to closure during pandemic but does need sorting.

It's very handy for the bus station, high street, and accessible to the rail station. The photo clearly shows that there are steps to the front door. The kitchen is well-equipped and there's a good view over the hills from the front room.

The picture and description of the property were helpful, so I knew that there were steps up to the front door.. The property is very handy for the bus station and easy to reach from the rail station, which was important as I was using public transport. It's quiet, comfortable and well-equipped.

We came home on Monday 7th 5 days early .. Fed up with the loud music coming from next door.and having 2 Saturday nights of loud disco music until 05.00 in the morning plus disco music playing until 23.00 on Thursday night.how nobody else have not complained is beyond me.We also used ear plugs but that did not stop the vibrations or the noise.I think people must be frightened to complain. We did to the owners Rep.

The Holiday & location absolutely lovely.. For us the cottage is is tired & in need of some decorating. From your advertising of the cottage we thought it had some outside space to sit, that is not the case & we wouldn't have booked that particular cottage had we realized.

A very central holiday house.. We have family in Skipton, so great to be able to spend time with them. The house is cosy and warm, with everything we needed. There are lots of stairs but this wan't a problem to us. Also a lot of noise from the nightclub on one of the nights, but again, we were prepared for this and it didn't spoil our holiday. I would definitely recommend it for its fab location!

The location good.. Excellent for the dog with plenty of local walks. Embassy very pretty walk around the resevoiur. Good public transport. Excellent pie shops and bakeries. The only downside was the vibration and noise from I think the nightclub behind the property on Saturday Nights (which went on to 5am on the first Saturday I arrived). The cottage was clean and we'll presented and comfortable. Nice touch provided dog bowls. Ruth was very welcoming, freindly and helpful.

This was a very well equipped cottage, very close to the town centre. Comfortable and quaint. Because of its elevated position it would not suit anyone with mobility difficulties. There is a parking space but it is not the easiest to access. Also, although the shower is a wonderful sight to behold, it is difficult to get in and out of if you are not very mobile. As we are both fit and active it was wonderful for us and my wife and I had a fantastic stay

Journeyman's Loft is a very well equipped property in an excellent position, 2mins from the town centre.. However it's very elevated position makes it impractical for anyone with mobility issues and also, although it has an off-road parking space, it is again quite difficult to access. Having said that, my wife and I enjoyed a very relaxing interesting week here.

August 2018
The cottage was extremely well equipped with all the little extras you may need like a fan, books, dvds sauces and condiments .. It had a dishwasher and washing machine too. The shower was amazing having 6 shower heads. The bed was very comfortable and large. The location of the premises was ideal in that you were surrounded by shops with well serviced public transport a very short walk away enabling you to get out and about if you wished to leave your car at home. A walk around the back of the castle is enjoyed together with a stroll down the canal side. There is a variety of eating places within a very short distance and a wetherspoons within 2 mins walk. We visited Malham, Howarth, Grassington and Hebdon Bridge all fabulous places travelling by bus and enjoyed the fantastic views along the way! We didn't want to leave and will probably return for another holiday in the future. Julie and Ian, Preston.

This is the third time I have booked this cottage so I knew already that it would meet my expectations - and it did! Being so central in Skipton it's very easy to get to the bus station (about 5 min) for people without a car, and about 15 min to the railway station. Skipton is a very good centre for exploring the Dales as well as Skipton woods and the lovely castle as well as taking a canal trip and wandering round the market (a good place to buy fresh fruit and veg.)

This comfortable cottage was very well located for Skipton and walking distance to a lovely market town with a good market 4 days a week, good shops, excellent pubs, take a ways, railway and bus station, supermarkets, tea shops, superb castle and walks in Skipton woods and moors.. Parking for one car which was a real bonus. However, we rarely used the car apart from walks to Malham area and Bolton Abbey with beautiful walks. The cottage is great for 2 people if you can manage stairs (there are quite a lot). Good cooking facilities (although a sieve would have been useful). TV reception was limited to about 20 channels. DVDs were available but we did not watch them. The bed was extremely comfortable. The shower was good. We had a minor problem which the owners dealt with immediately. If we came back to this area we would definitely book this cottage. Just be aware that the access for the car may be rather tight if you have a big car. No problem for us with a Ford Fiesta. If you have problems with stairs and a gradient do not consider this.

Very pleasant cottage.. Close to everything you could want. Good for day trips around wonderful country side. Only one draw back could have done with satellite TV for wet days. A part from that a wonderfull time was had by us.

This is the second time we've stayed at Journey Loft and we're looking forward to staying here a third time if the opportunity arises.. We spent a month touring Britain and in my opinion, this place, with its super-king bed and large well equipped kitchen, was the most comfortable and best equipped of the half dozen different flats we rented during our vacation. The parking is still located up a steep and narrow approach, but even I, as a timid American unaccustomed to your scary single track roads, found it doable after a day or two. Bottom line is I think it's a great place and would recommend it to anyone.
Mrs Ahern
August 2017
Cottage was very well equipped.. It's situation is ideal for the centre of town, the bus station is less than 5mins walk away and the train station just beyond. Will definitely go back.

The cottage was so warm and cosy, very well equipped and spotlessly clean.. Close proximity to town was a big bonus-we only moved the car twice in a week.
Mrs Hampson, October 2016
September 2016
Loved it but the bed was a little bit uncomfortable.. Overall excellent
Mr Formby, September 2016
September 2016
Accommodation was absolutely fine with a good standard of facilities and cleanliness.. The only comment I would make is that not enough information was given about the difficulty of reaching the property by car and the fairly steep incline to walk up before approaching the steps to the loft. A bigger car than our Fiesta would have problems in negotiating the narrow turn and steep climb to the parking spot. Reversing out was a particularly difficult manoeuvre. Noise on Thursday and Friday nights from a nearby nightclub unti 3am in the morning was also annoying, although to be fair this might only be a problem on warm nights when you need the bedroom window open.
Mrs Mulley, September 2016
August 2016
In parts the property was a little lacking, but allowing for the size an proximity to the town centre it's quite exceptional.. The approach by car and the parking should carry a note as it's cramped and a difficult approach. Otherwise really matches the images and description.

Journeyman Loft is a really tip top property. It is cosy, quiet and characterful but with all the mod cons (and more) that make life easy. The proximity to the town is brilliant and the parking space a real bonus.

My husband and I have just had the pleasure of staying at Journeyman Loft for a few days and found it to be completely gorgeous. A cosy, characterful property with a real contemporary twist. The furnishings are of a very good standard and the crockery etc modern and attractive. The shower is something else again. What a treat! It is quiet and yet perfectly located for the town. The parking space a real bonus. We loved it.

A nice little place for two. Large comfortable bedroom and bathroom with a nice modern kitchen and newly installed wifi. Centrally located to the town center with off street parking. It's not for someone with mobility problems though because the front entrance has a lot of stairs and a VERY steep and narrow driveway. But all in all I had a very nice stay and I'd stay there again the next time I visit Skipton.

This was one of the best self catering cottages that I have stayed in. On three levels which made it unusual and to my mind more attractive. Less mobile folk might want to know that there is quite a steep gradient up from the town centre plus steps up to the cottage and the internal stairs. Ideally located for walking, touring. Also Ideal for visiting without a car as bus-station, railway station and shops are all just a short walk away. Very friendly and helpful welcome by the caretaker of the cottage.

Great location. Nicely equipped. Clean and comfortable. Split level, so up and down stairs a bit. Really nice to leave car behind and be able to walk out and about - town, canals, moors, woodland, etc. Skipton has some good places to eat, some good shops/market for a self-catering stay, and good public transport.

This is a lovely little cottage ideally situated in the centre of Skipton - it was great to be able to park the car up & walk to all local amenities. Cottage itself was attractively decorated, well supplied with everything you'd need for your stay - really enjoyed the large multi headed walk in shower after a long day out. There is also a really nice log burner to add to the general cosyness.

This flat is certainly conveniently placed in the centre of Skipton but in a a quiet corner. It was small but sufficient for two adults and had been recently refurbished to a very good standard.Access would certainly be a problem for many people. Parking is up a very narrow and steep alley;reversing out was extremely tricky. In addition, the outside stairs were alsoquite steep. We enjoyed our stay but this flat is not for the fainthearted!
