The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Lovely little cottage, tucked away behind the main street, contained everything we needed even champagne flutes.. Would re book.

There was rubbish under the bed, otherwise very clean, I guess easily missed.. The cottage itself is one of the best in Staithes and I say this having stayed in five now. There is little missing, except perhaps a dvd player for rainy days, particularly as the owners have now added internet. Brilliant location, out of the way but central, particularly relevant in current climate.

What a lovely cosy cottage, right in the heart of Staithes but set back away from the main street down a side alley.. I read a review on booking.com suggesting it 'needed a bit of love'. It has either had a lot of love since then or the writer was confusing needing love with not being modern and slick. The furnishings are cosy and good quality, very comfortable beds with beautiful linen. Exceptionally clean. So glad we didn't listen to that review.

The property is in a great location and had most things we needed for a week away.. However, on arrival to the cottage on the Saturday, it was cold inside as the heating had not been turned on until that morning. With there being a caretaker, it would’ve been nice for them to have gone in the night before to ensure both the heating and the hot water were switched on. We luckily found where to turn the hot water on ourselves throughout our stay but this shouldn’t have been our responsibility. There was also a note on the side to say the shower was out of order when we first arrived and needed a part. At this point, we were unsure when the note meant it was going to be fixed. Later, the caretaker came over to tell us it should be sorted the next day (being Sunday) and that we could have a bath instead. This would’ve been fine, if there was actually enough hot water to fill the bath! The shower didn’t eventually get fixed until the Tuesday. Throughout our stay, we came across other minor things such as one of the upstairs bedroom blinds not working (so we had to put a magazine up the window to stop the light coming in) and the fridge door came off in our hands when opening it. The chairs aren’t particularly comfortable and the fire doesn’t give out an awful lot of heat. It is a cute and quaint little cottage that could be so much better with a little TLC.

It was a lovely place to stay.. We enjoyed it very much. The hot water for the bath was a little temperamental and closing the front door needed care taking so as not to hurt hands. Having said that, it was in a gorgeous location, was very quaint and cosy. As a family we all have said we would love to go back. There was a great range of homely touches. We didn’t want for anything. We slept very well. Thank you for having us!

A lovely cottage in the heart of Staithes, we took our own wood and coal for the burner so we were able to enjoy a warm fire on our first night as no shops were open in the village when we got there.. Loved the cottage, very cosy. Great location in the heart of the village. We had a very relaxing break.

The cottage was superb.. The location was great and it really added to our holiday. My son loved his top floor bedroom and the cottage was larger than I had expected it to be. Unfortunately, I was poorly for the last few days but having a home from home just meant that I could wrap up and take it easy
