We both enjoyed the break.. Haltwhistle is a lovely little town peaceful and had everything we needed. Took advantage of the Roman Wall and museums and also the surrounding area. The house was warm and welcoming which all added to our comfort. All in all a lovely experience. Thank you. Paul and Christine

I stayed at the cottage over New Year with my husband, two children and in-laws. Adam was very welcoming and showed us around the cottage before leaving us with the keys. We were left a welcome gift of a magnum of prosecco, a cake and 4 pints of milk, it was very well received. The cottage was lovely and homely with plenty of room. The Christmas tree was a lovely touch. The location was perfect with Sainsbury's within walking distance and a few pubs a stone's throw away. The Black Bull was very welcoming and cosy. They allowed children and dogs. We also had a nice meal on New year's day at the Centre of Britain hotel. We visited Housestead Roman fort which was less than 30 minutes drive. I would highly recommend this cottage and would consider returning.

Lovely cottage. It lives up to the photos and had all sorts of little extra things which made our stay comfortable. Its handy for shops and takeaways. Lots of open space nearby too for dog-walking as well as the lovely countryside to explore. There were 3 of us but the space would be still be generous for six.

We've just come back from staying 2 nights at beautiful 16th/17th Century Bastle House. The photos on the Web page don't do it justice. Log fire, comfortable beds, excellent kitchen that had everything! Sainsburys directly over the road. Shops, pubs and takeaways right on your doorstep. We ate in The Black Bull the first night, delicious, and took an Indian takeaway back to the cottage the second. Watching the sun come up over the hills every morning from our kitchen window was just perfect. We were able to leave the cars and hike up to Hadrians Wall. There were 5 of us and we can't wait to go back.

This was an excellent cottage which was very well equipped, comfortable and cosy. It was a great centre for both Carlisle and Newcastle, and lots of other places around. The dog friendly pub was great and the locals were very friendly. The cottage owner popped around on our first day to check everything was fine. Well recommended.

This was a brilliant house. It was stylish, warm and cosy. We used it as a base for walking Hadrian's wall. The shops are close by and open late. We loved this house and would definitely return again and recommend it to anyone who is visiting the area.

Bastle House is an absolutely fantastic cottage, had an amazing stay. The photographs really don't do this property justice. Lovely pubs in the village and a few takeaways also. Log burner fire is fantastic. The owner of the property was helpful on arrival. Would love to return to this amazing property, the dog also had an enjoyable stay!! Close enough to Newcastle or Carlisle by car if you fancy some shopping. Great walks around Haltwhistle!!! A+ property!!!

This holiday was for a relaxing break and the cottage fitted the bill beautifully. The weather wasn't kind but the log burner and comfort of the cottage more than made up for it. The local area was well worth visiting and we all enjoyed getting out and about for the day and then coming home to the cottage to dry off and warm up. The owners have been very helpful and we will definitely come again. Thank you.

The cottage we stayed in was fantastic. It was so cosy that we had to drag ourselves out (even the dogs wanted to stay in). It was very welcoming from the moment we opened the door. Everyone would enjoy staying in this cottage in this wonderful location.
