The cottage was extremely cosy and warm, it was very relaxing and a perfect destination for a 'get away from it all break'. The property is very child and dog friendly, there are also excellent walks near by. The beds were very comfortable and clean and we always had plenty of hot water. The log burner was also a plus!

The cottage offered a complete get away and was like a home from home. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful views.

Had a great time here, we really liked the remoteness and the silence of no cars and escaping the rat race for a least a week.

I loved the location with the fantastic panoramic views and the lovely peaceful setting. Very convenient for local walks. Excellent base for the Moors and the coastline.

October 2013
The laid back relaxing atmosphere, the owner was there if you needed her, but not in your face. It is a delightful little cottage on a working farm. Very quite, but near to main resorts such as Whitby, Robn Hood's Bay, Staithes and Saltburn on Sea.
Mr Ballard
August 2013
The overall ambience of the cottage and its aspects were delightful. Absolute solitude, and the views were stunning. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The cottage is very close to the village of Houlsyke, but because of its position on the hillside you could not see another building for miles across the valley. I would recommend this cottage to anyone.

The location was fantastic. No traffic noise just the noise of the country. The owner has two horses and it was lovely hearing them move about the yard. Everything was perfect.

Located in the national park and close to the coast. Fabulous views over the surrounding valleys. The owner was friendly, helpful and extremely welcoming. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed herself too and would have happily stayed! Beautiful enclosed garden for our little ones to play in. A real rural treat.

January 2013
We loved the picturesque setting of the cottage and the view of life on a farm. It was lovely being able to walk from our front door into wonderful countryside and to leave the car behind. The owner was very friendly and helpful and the cottage was warm and comfortable throughout. We ate at a local pub which served very good food . The local bakery and tea rooms were a real treat on our last morning.

Good location with a friendly and helpful owner. Clearly a lot of effort had been made to give it a 'farm feel' which was done very well. Fantastic views.

October 2009
The owner was really welcoming and helpful - and most generous (leaving us a home-made cake, fresh farm eggs and milk in the fridge for our arrival). The cottage has the most amazing view down into the dale, and is very well-equipped. In all, one of the best cottages we've stayed in, and we were only sorry we couldn't have stayed longer...
Mr Mrs Jubbs

Lovely secluded and quiet location with fantastic views. Easy access to the moors and the coast. Our children loved the run of the farm: feeding the chickens and horses, playing with the swing and of course, Suzie the dog.
Mr Hieatt

A perfect holiday. Beautiful views, wonderful cottage and an ideal location for touring. The owners were extremely helpful and staying on a working farm was a fabulous experience for the children. I would definitely stay at the cottage in the future and would ensure the holiday lasted longer than a weekend and would bring the dogs.
