Burniston is famed for its dinosaur footprints found on the rocks in the village. It is served by a shop/Post Office and two traditional village pubs serving food. The Burniston & Cloughton Village Hall provides a play park and tennis courts. A short drive away is the quintessentially English seaside resort of Scarborough, a must-visit whilst you're in the area as it offers a wealth of quaint amenities along with plenty of activities to enjoy and a dominating castle to admire.
