The location of the cottage could have been clearer as there are two Pilsleys in Derbyshire.. Pilsley near Bakewell is in the Peak District whilst Netherfield Cottage is in Pilsley, near Clay Cross a totally different location.

Enjoyed our holiday.. Great location for getting to the places we wanted to visit. The house was great. Only niggles: 1. Awful showers (which is exacerbated because you should shower frequently before and after using the hot tub) and 2. The annoyingly loud creaky floorboards upstairs. But overall we loved the place and thank the owners for having us.

Lovely cottage, with fab open plan layout downstairs and nicely decorated bedrooms, en suite and bathroom upstairs.. A great garden well equipped with hot tub and barbecue. Very quiet village location (not to be confused with the larger Pilsley near the Chatsworth estate), convenient base for cycling, walking and enjoying the beautiful towns of the Peak District. 40-60mins from Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock, Tissington Trail etc, so good base location. Cottage also situated right next to the Five Pits Trail which is suitable for walkers, cyclists and pushchairs and easy circular walks accessible around the surrounding villages. No pubs in close walking distance that serve food, but plenty of lovely pubs a short drive away - a car is necessary here if you want to get out and visit local areas. The owner who lives in the main farmhouse next door is lovely, and more than happy to help with anything and french bulldogs Ronnie and Reggie provided our 18mth old with lots of entertainment. If we had one downside and it is only the one, the floorboards upstairs in the cottage were incredibly creaky, making putting a toddler to bed very tricky - something to consider if travelling with a small one who is easily disturbed. All in all a lovely place to stay, and we would visit again and definitely recommend! Thanks Jane and Mark

Lovely cottage, clean and comfortable however it’s worth stressing that entrance to the cottage is via the owners garden, I’m sure they don’t mind but we found it a bit awkward so chose to walk around the property rather than through garden. It also means your car is not directly near the property. Ok For us but someone less mobile may have found it inconvenient. Overall a nice place to stay.

The closeness of the property to the owners needs to be clearer.. The house is actually in their back garden. Also I discovered there are 2 Pilsleysin Derbyshire so it might be worth clarifying which one this is

The customer service was excellent as I needed help with a payment issue.. The hosts were wonderful and allowed us to feel relaxed, welcome but also left alone to enjoy ourselves. The cottage was spotless and to a high standard. Hot tub was just heaven... Really top job. I will definately book with Sykes again.

Lovely accommodation.. Everything we needed was there. The biscuits and tea etc were are nice touch. Lovely and warm yet so spacious, which given the weather wasn't great, it was lovely to get back to. We booked because we liked the idea of a hot tub and went in every evening.

The cottage was well equipped, spacious, clean and modern.. We had a wonderful stay at the cottage, and really enjoyed the use of the hot tub. The only downside of the experience is that the cottage was super difficult to find in the dark, as we could not see the door number at all due to a dimly lit street. It would have been helpful if there was a sign indicating the name of the cottage, or a clearer display of the door number. Alternatively, perhaps the owner could have communicated a map or instructions upon contact to indicate how to locate the cottage. We drove in and out of three or four neighbouring driveways and had to turn around in the street a few times before we finally found the right property. However due to the cottage being tucked away behind the owner's house out of public view, I had to ring the owner to find out where exactly the cottage was!!! Very difficult to find. Now we know where the cottage is located, we would rent it again, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Too difficult to find!

Stayed here with my partner at the beginning of December and had a wonderful weekend. The cottage is clean and well presented with more than enough space for us. The highlight was definitely the hot tub, which was perfect after a long day exploring :) we would definitely recommend this property!

Netherfield cottage was a lovely place to stay.. Well appointed, clean, close to hiking trails and some lovely villages. The only negative I have is that the upstairs floor boards are really noisy and loud. If you have to get up in the night the noise inevitably woke the other person or if your downstairs watching telly the noise is terribly disturbing. Some people it may not bother but for us, it it did really spoil a truly lovely property.

We chose this wonderful cottage for our weekend getaway and it is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. The facilities are incredible, the cottage is beautiful and the surrounding area and scenery is stunning! We enjoyed meeting up and catching up in this beautiful place and cannot recommend it enough! The hot tub is amazing and the set up is just perfect, great value for money as well. We will hopefully make this a yearly thing and keep coming back to this fabulous property!

This was a good base for exploring the Peak District. The property was lovely, and perfect for the 3 of us. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms comfortable. The living area was beautiful, especially with the bi fold doors wide open on to the private patio garden with the wonderful hot tub. Loved the view from the en suite loo!
