Electricity inc. in rent, fuel for fire to purchase locally. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot and highchair. Parking - there is no off road parking at the property although you can pull up outside to load & unload. Car parks are at the top of the hill 5-10 minutes' walk away and are payable locally. Bank Top is Pay & display whilst Glen Vale is private and advance booking is essential. (Parking charges are seasonal and subject to change, full details for both are available online). Front bench. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops, pubs and beach 2 mins walk. Note: This property has narrow cottage stairs. Note: Mobile reception is limited in Staithes.

Over three floors. Two bedrooms: 1 x second floor double, 1 x twin. Ground floor bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Kitchen with breakfast bar. Sitting room with open fire.

Area
The seaside village of Staithes is surrounded by high craggy cliffs on three sides and there is a sheltered sandy beach set amongst the rocky coastline. Staithes has a good selection of pubs, shops and tea rooms. The best views of the town can be enjoyed from the Cleveland Way which runs down the cliffside to the sea's edge.

Region
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Stayed in staithes many time but first time at this cottage. Nice clean cottage over 3 floors with bathroom on the ground floor. Rated 4 stars due to no parking permit included with this rental when other cottages in staithes include permits at similar or cheaper price and you can only pay max 12hrs in carpark. Will be only using cottages with permits in future.

Fab walking area and delightful village.. Lovely cottage. Your blurb says minimal mobile signal. NO mobile signal (either with 02 or EE at cottage!!) Perhaps others should be aware - although this didn’t trouble us unduly!! Also the first flight of stairs has a low head height at one step. There is a plaque which says ‘mind your head’ but husband (6 ft) only took note after hitting his head once or twice!! Due to Covid-19 restrictions would advise incoming guests to book nearby pubs for evening meals (if their idea is not to cook) as soon as they have booked cottage as Cod and Lobster (excellent pub on seafront) already booked, for example, until end November now! They do accept walk ins but it’s hit and miss if there’s an available table inside or out.

Property has storage heaters.. We were there at the end of March. Thankfully it was fairly mild. Despite this the property was like a freezer. Not good

One small criticism is that it was not made clear in the cottage details that the bench outside the front of Broomhill View, does not actually belong to the cottage.. There is no back garden or courtyard so I was looking forward to sitting on the bench in the evenings, but it was often occupied by locals or other visitors.

The cottage was well located on the main high street of the village, close to gift shops, butcher's and pubs, just a minutes' walk to the sea front.. It was cosy and warm ( as long as you use the storage heaters properly and follow user instructions). Beds were extremely comfortable. Only real drawback was having to come down 2 flights of stairs, through the lounge and kitchen to the bathroom to use the loo during the night.

Cottage was beautiful and I am a regular stayer In staithes.. We just wanted do to get away from it all without our sons (x6) Cottage was beautiful- attention to detail second to none. We only had to speak to ‘Sykes’ and the owner once and they couldn’t hAve been helpful If we had to pick and give one thing that could be improved I would say be aware of the weather in staithes!!! It was bitterly cold, we come from ‘down safffffff’ And it was a shockIng to the system the cottages are original so take some warming up - make sure your take logs etc for fire!!

We stayed here with my 7 year old son and 5 year old daughter. The cottage is lovely and it's location near the beach/harbour is great for all. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Both pubs in the village (George & the cod and lobster) are great for food and very friendly. Highly recommend this cottage for all

Fantastic cosy cottage in the heart of Staithes. Enjoyed snuggling up by the fire one cold winter evenings, Beautiful village to walk around and friendly local pubs. Great views from upstairs master bedroom and everything you need, plus no mobile phone signal! Heaven. Will stay again.

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful place. The cottage has a lovely feel about it and lots of character. The location is fantastic with easy access to great café's, pubs and galleries. It was charming, very clean and fitted out to a good standard. Well furnished with very comfy beds, it was very cosy with the fire on.
