I visited here recently and whilst the cottage is very well situated for the town and the local area we did have some challenges. Positives first - kitchen is huge and very airy, beds are super comfy and bedrooms are both a great size. The kitchen however not not too well equipped so cooking was made more challenging. The crockery and glassware was also not clean and needed to be washed by hand before we used it. This may be down to the dishwasher needing a good clean. Bathroom is nice size but shower head held in a firm position by a cable tie. There is a BBQ outside but it was so laden with food remnants from previous use that we didn’t want to touch it and the outdoor table and chairs also needed a good clean before use. Parking is first come first served across the road and it was not clear where else we could park (as most of the town has restricted parking). The information book was light on content and we could not locate any details for the wifi.

When Covid-19 restrictions prevented my partner and I from visiting North Wales for our week's holiday, we booked White Rose Cottage as a last minute replacement...and the cancellation proved to be a blessing in disguise! We found the cottage to be very well equipped and in a convenient location within town. A small issue was dealt with satisfactually by the friendly and helpful owner when contacted. Guisborough itself has a lot of shops within walking distance and a reasonable selection of pubs and restaurants/takeaways. The cottage is only a short drive to the coast or the beautiful North York Moors. Guisborough Forest is accessable on foot and has lots of walking and cycling trails. We had a wonderful week and hope to return soon.

We have just returned today from a great stay at this lovely property., it had everything we needed and was very clean. The bedrooms are both a good size with plenty of space to hang clothes. The kitchen is very modern, clean and fresh looking and well equipped with a washer dryer, a dishwasher and even a fridge freezer with plenty of freezer space , I normally find this facility lacking on other properties I have used. . There is also a good sized table and 4 chairs to eat at. The bathroom was very clean and light again with a modern suite. I would highly recommend this place and will certainly be back in the near future.

Nice cottage but layout is a bit strange, very small sitting room at front of the house on the street so constant flow of people going past the window.. Would strongly recommend blinds on this window as we had to keep the curtains closed permanently for privacy. There is no toilet or bathroom upstairs and stairs extremely steep for older people. Kichen n bathroom downstairs lovely and nice patio area.

Visited Guisborough in Teesside with my daughter in early March for a birding holiday.. It was an excellent location for many birding sites in the area. Overall we were very pleased with the cottage. It was immaculately clean, it was warm, with plenty of hot water, good quality towels, and beds comfortable. Our only criticism was absence of one or two kitchen basics - important if you are self catering. We would have liked a very large saucepan and a casserole dish, and maybe a couple of tea trays but these are minor points, and we managed. A mirror in the second bedroom would be good. Could we suggest that more guidance about car parking would help future guests - although in the event we didn't have any problem putting the car just across the street. Also instructions about what to with our rubbish and recycling. Having said all that we were quite happy and had a lovely time in a very beautiful part of the U.K.

The cottage was great, clean, good facilities to use and had enough room for 4 people.. Guisborough has great places to visit. Would certainly recommend this property if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Guisborough.

We had a lovely Christmas stay, the cottage was snug and warm with a well equipped kitchen for preparing a Christmas dinner.. It's close to shops and restaurants, with easy parking along the main road. The Christmas tree and welcome fizz from Phil was a very nice touch!

This cottage was adequate , maybe we are now spoiled with the quality/ facilities of the Best cottages we have used ( ie The Old Dairy , Gainford , Ulverston .. )

First impression of White Rose cottage was favourable, there was good downstairs space and practical laminate floor, a good sized downstairs bathroom. Upstairs two good sized bedrooms, the towel provision poor with only one hand towel for two people in main bedroom and none in second bedroom, we had booked for two people. Further investigation showed blood on the mattress cover on the double bed, heavy layer of dust on the T.V. boxes and a yard which was just a collection of dead plants. Speaking to Sykes cottages, the manager we where told that they couldn't guarantee clean bedding this was up to the owner, the owner claimed he had cut his finger and didn't notice, the blood was on both ends of the mattress cover and was not on the sheet although was visible through the sheet. Our first nights sleep had to wait for the washer dryer to run it's cycle! Guisborough is a good location with good shops and easy travel to further afield, this cottage is not to be recommended neither can Sykes Cottages who manage it

Ideal location near shops and pubs.. Perfect base for travelling to Saltburn, Staithes and Whitby. The cottage itself is spacious and has everything you need for your stay. The beds are very comfortable. The shower was so easy to use and very powerful. The rear courtyard was a lovely suntrap. We found a lovely place call The Monk on the same street. So relaxing and friendly for a chilling drink. Check it out.

My friends and I visited the White Rose Cottage for a weekend away and it’s safe to say we were not disappointed! The cottage is absolutely stunning throughout and is like a home from home. So clean and has everything you could need and more. The location is so convenient and is close to places such as Whitby and Saltburn-by-the-Sea. Guisborough itself is also a quaint little town which offers shops and restaurants if you just wanted to stay local. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend and hopefully stay here again.

The location of white rose cottage was really good in guisborough.. so close to all amenities and loads of walks for us and the dog. We enjoyed days out at Whitby, runswick bay and redcar and we hit it lucky with the weather as well.

We really liked the facilities in this cottage.. The fact that there was a dryer was really handy with the little clothes we had with us. The location was also very nice. In the centre with choise of a lot of shops. Even a 24 hour Coop nearby. We would recomend this cottage.

Cottage was amazing, home from home! Everything you need for your holiday including lovely comfy beds and a great shower! Cottage is ideally situated in the village, very close to the shops (Morrison's a 5 min walk, Sainsbury's and Iceland 10 min walk) Guisborough priory ruins in the village were lovely. Guisborough forest has lovely walks on your doorstep. Lovely beaches closeby Saltburn about 20min drive, Scarborough and Whitby about an hours drive. Plenty of takeaways in the village and market days on Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays. We did have slight concerns about parking at the cottage as it doesn't have it's own private parking but there was parking across the road (first come first served) or up a side road close by. We will definitely go back.

White Rose Cottage situated in Guisborough was a good place for access to the coast & Yorkshire countryside.. The town had all the shops & supermarkets you could wish for as well as plenty of eateries.

We thought the location of White Rose Cottage within this charming market town, Guisborough was excellent.. Being so close to the shops, pubs and restaurants was a bonus. The facilities that had been provided at White Rose Cottage were beyond our expectations, and as a result, we were able to have a comfortable and relaxing break. We found the parking to be quite easy. Guisborough is an ideal location to explore this part of Yorkshire. Following this experience we are more likely to choose to rent a cottage than stay in a hotel. We would certainly return to Sykes Holiday Cottages again.

We had the most amazing four weeks whilst staying at White Rose Cottage from 27th April to 25th May The cottage,in Guisborough, was so central both for the coast.. the moors and the dales and the town itself had every ameniity you could wish for. The cottage was fantastic, snug and warm, with a very comfortable bed!!! It was spotlessly clean and had everything you could wish for in a holiday home.. We took our cocker spaniel and it was very dog friendly with an enclosed back yard, which was south facing with table and chairs for sitting out. I would strongly recommend this property to family and friends and certainly look forward to returning in the future.
