Dream come true to stay in Portwenn (lol) Village, just steps from the harbour. Village is so charming and surprisingly relaxing even though very crowded during the day. Loved walking on the Coast Path to Port Quin and back. Cottage was small but very comfortable. Could see Dr. Ellingham's surgery from my bedroom window. Even my non Doc Martin fan companions loved it.

We had a lovely holiday in Port Isaac. This old fishermans cottage was ok and had lots of charm it is very compact and not in my opinion suitable for 4 people. The bathroom is very small and compact, it was ok for us but if you are of a wider/bigger build or disabled then this is not the cottage for you. There were a couple of things that stood out and really need sorting - there is a dining table and chairs but were unusable as we could not for the life of us work out how the chairs unfolded and neither could anyone else by the look of it as they were covered in a very thick layer of dust and to be honest there wasn't really room to open the table up, so we ate our meals on our laps with a place mat on our knees, not ideal! Also something a bit more of a concern the bedroom window would not stay open as the sash cord was missing and the window frame was rotten and falling apart so when you did try to open it a small pane of glass dropped slightly, we managed to find a block of wood to wedge it open as it was too warm to sleep with no window open. You really should be able to open a window and it's not good for covid ventilation! The parking is not ideal and please note that paying for a weeks car parking space does not guarantee you get one, we had to queue for a space everyday when we returned after a day out. I was lucky enough to book waves end last year before Sykes over inflated their prices, for the same week next year its £300 more expensive and I certainly wouldn't pay £1500+ for it in the summer! It's not worth anymore than I paid for it.They can't put it down to extra cleaning because yes it was clean but not overly clean, it's just greed! I've booked with Sykes's many times but this is the first time I've had cause to really complain. They asked me to review my holiday and if I wanted it published as yet they haven't!

The cottage is adequate, but very small, certainly not for four people at all. However the agents failed to mention the constant flow of noisy drunken people shouting until 1am, sat under the window on next doors bench. We were woken by Delivery drivers parked alongside the cottage from 6am onwards and one morning there were four deliveries. An awful experience with no sleep and we left early. Would not recommend this cottage in this location ever.
