For outdoors enthusiasts or those wanting to reconnect with nature, this lodge isn't be passed up. Set in the woodlands of Tahoma, Lake Tahoe is on the doorstep and you’re just a short drive from the slopes of Homewood and Palisades. After ski sessions or lengthy hikes, the hot tub is ideal for soothing tired muscles, and the alfresco dining table encourages feasts in the sunshine. If you’re visiting in the winter months, the yard may not be accessible depending on snow levels, but we reckon you’ll be too cosy by the fire to mind.
Home truths: *Due to the home’s location, we recommend hiring a car for getting around. Travel in the winter may require a four-wheel drive and snow tires. Parking is available for up to four cars – two in the garage and two on the driveway.
*The third bedroom comprises a queen size bed and a single over a double bunk bed.
*Your host provides a starter supply of shampoo, body wash, paper towels and toilet paper, but you might want to bring your own to top this up. The nearest supermarket for stocking up is a five-minute drive away.
