Area
St Just is the nearest town to Land’s End and is situated approximately eight miles west of Penzance. The town itself is an ancient settlement that has a strong mining history and there are several monuments and prehistoric antiquities to visit including the Bronze Age settlement at Cape Cornwall. St Just is ideally located for visitors to explore the far west of Cornwall as it is situated on the edge of the moors and close to the beautiful north coast. In the centre of the town is Plain-an-Gwarry, a theatre used for miracle plays in medieval times, and in more recent times for the Lafrowda Festival

The cottage was lovely.. We all enjoyed our stay and how convenient it was to different locations we wanted to visit and explore. I really enjoyed the silence down there and weather was great. I took my cats and they loved the placed as well! Thank you nikki for coming down to see us and giving us a welcome pack food. Wished I would have stay longer but had to get back. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to get away from a busy hectic life or just a holiday too!

Brought in 2019 at this stunning cottage. Nikki left us a welcome pack of local produce that was a really nice touch. Great communication and when she came round to check on the hot tub, gave us good local tips for walking into St Just. Town is about a ten minute walk away. Cottage is really comfortable and the large kitchen is where we spent most of our time chatting round the island. We used both double rooms, which are pretty much identical. Both with really nice en-suite shower rooms. Hot tub was great after a walk to Lands End. Superb start to 2019.

Cottage exceeded our expectations.. It's beautiful and finished to a very high standard. Nikki left us a welcome pack of local produce which we put to good use for breakfast! Facilities are excellent and the whole place is very comfortable. Communication with Nikki was great and when she came round to check the hot tub, she gave us good local knowledge on getting to St Just. Location is ideal and we walked to Lands End. Takes about 2 hours to get there and easy to find the coastal path. Hot tub very welcome when we got back.

We came for a week holiday mid October with our dogs, the cottage itself is absolutely beautiful with breakfast amenities supplied on arrival. The cottage has everything you need and is in the perfect location. It’s private, it’s cosy, the hot tub was amazing and to relax by a log burner in the evening was just perfect. The location wasn’t far from all attractions, lands end is minutes away, Minack theatre, geevers tin mine, st michaels mount, st Ives are all a short drive away. St just village is beautiful with local butchers and bakery and the Kings head pub is also dog friendly. There are lots of beautiful beaches and walks for the dogs. Overall our break away couldn’t have been any more perfect. I would highly recommend this cottage to everyone. Thank you for the perfect vacation!

The Old Forge is a great base for the best beaches and walks in Cornwall.. The house was well equipped and clean. There is ample space for 6 people and a dog, the hot tub is fab and a great place to relax after a day walking or surfing. St Just is a 20 min walk away where there are great local shops and pubs, another 20 mins will get you to Cape Cornwall which is a beautiful spot for a picnic. A brilliant place to stay with great touches such as Netflix and WiFi. Nikki is a great host checking the hot tub and providing local information. The welcome food such as bacon and sausages from the local butcher wasa bonus.

This was a fantastic cottage.. The whole family loved it. The attention to detail was well appreciated from welcome pack of local foods to the solar sheep in the garden! I had booked it last minute and guess I got a cancellation slot as not much else was available. I had never stayed In the far west of Cornwall but this turned out to be a real bonus as the area is not over crowded but full of things to do.

Best property we have stayed in over 40 years of travelling Loved everything about it.. Welcome pack was so unexpected and even a welcome for our pet dog. Brilliant location and owners had thought of everything we drove 8 hours to get there but it was worth every mile thank you for making our holiday even more special by being able to stay in 5* luxury

We had such a wonderful time staying at the old forge.. Such a fantastic cottage that was decorated beautifully. TVs were in every room and the kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly need. The children loved the freedom that the large lawn garden gave and it was great to have a BBQ out there. The surroundings, together with the cosiness of the house made it feel like a lovely relaxing holiday. The owners were lovely and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. They treated us with all you could want to make a kings breakfast. Garden is a suntrap and there are 4 pubs less than a mile away. Pre order the taxi though if you don’t want to walk as the guy was quite busy. Would highly recommend.

My family and myself absolutely love this cottage and looking to book again next year. We could not have asked for more, the property was excellent and extreamly clean. We had a lovely welcome with bread, bacon, eggs, sausages, milk, tea coffee and sugar on arrival. The hot tub was great and my Grandchildren age 6@8 were in this most days as Was The rest of my family, and The owner came every day to check the levels were correct. There was ample space in the cottage and there was every thing we needed in the lovely kitchen. The lounge had a wood burner which we lit every night, two bedrooms had an ensuit and the master had sea view, 3rd bedroom had the use of the massive bathroom with not only a shower but a corner bath too. The amenities around where the cottage is situated are all very easy to get to and not far away. Lands end is only 3 miles away and is a must to visit, as is the little coves.

Just returned from a week at the Old Forge and can not fault this gorgeous cottage.. A brand new conversion of a very old building which has been done in sympathy with the old building but with all mod cons and is sheer luxury. 3 beautifully appointed bedrooms, 2 with en suites and a large family bathroom with a huge corner bath and shower. There are plenty of towels and bath robes for all and even a basket in the bathroom full of hotel quality shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap and face cloths. Even the fridge was stocked with local sausages, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms and milk, and a fresh loaf of bread and local butter. Full tins of tea bags and instant coffee, but bring your own choice of ground coffee for the espresso machine. Oh and there was also all the wood we needed for the wood burner, washing liquid & conditioner, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. Even treats in the dog bowl for your furry friend! Then outside there’s garden furniture, a gas BBQ and patio heater. The best holiday cottage I’ve ever stayed in by far in a perfect location just outside Land’s end. We will definitely be back.

My sister and I with slight envy wished the place was ours , so much so we stayed in it in November . It did not disappoint . The place is so much more than we could of imagined . It`s amazing . With the hot tub in the garden to the beautifully decorated rooms . The kitchen is so fantastically equipped, lovely glass wear and even matching plastic glasses for the hot tub . The dinning room is to die for, we only wished it was ours . There has been a lot of thought given to making this place what it is. As for the not so nice review please take no notice of it , if we did we would have missed out on staying in this beautiful house.

We had a perfect week staying at The Old Forge in the summer. A spacious, newly-renovated cottage with eveything we could have possibly needed for our family and dog. The cottage is decorated to perfection and was in pristine condition throughout! The cottage contained eveything we needed for the week, from towels, wood, coffee and barbecue supplies. We were totally spoilt with 2 ensuite rooms and a family bathroom! The owners were extremely friendly, providing us with a welcome package on arrival full of delicious local produce. They advised us on a few sites to visit and how close the coastal paths are to the cottage, making it the perfect location for walkers like us. We can't wait to return to the Old Forge and look forward to revisiting next year, thanks for the lovely stay.

Beautiful cottage - but, there was obviously a sewage problem, which stank the house out all week. Nothing was done about it, the communication from the owners was awful! We had to keep going out to eat as we could not bear to eat meals with the stink all over the house. There was dog muck around the property when we arrived which we had to clear up first as we had a puppy with us! Luckily, the surrounding areas and St Just is beautiful. Just a pity about the accommodation.
