We found the accommodation clean and comfortable and adequately equipped.. The site is well laid out and well maintained and we appreciated the distant sea view. With easy access to both the moors and coast we found it an ideal location. The ride across the moors via Castleton and Hutton le Hole to Helmsley was a real joy.

We had a lovely holiday here and would certainly return.. The lodge was clean and comfortable.Being able to sit out on the decking type area was great. Often did this to read and you were not disturbed. The lodge is in a great area for going out and about. Lots to see and do in this area.

Nice cabin, comfy & cosy once warmed through with the heaters.. With 4 adults the hot water tank didn’t last long & takes a few hours to warm up again. Kitchen equipment basic and the WiFi does not work at all. Still a pleasant week away in a good location.

Easy to find and a great location for exploring the NY Moors.. A lovely warm welcome from the host on arrival and very helpful when I had to ask when I couldn’t find the switch for the fire. Beautiful views of the coast from the window which I wasn’t expecting. My only disappointment was that WiFi was non existent although was listed. I checked we’d connected correctly as I had a work email to send but had to drive 5 miles to a fast food outlet to send it. I fully appreciate rural broadband is an issue in this country but maybe it should be removed from the listing as it was non existent. It was a beautifully clean, pleasant place and I was pleasantly surprised apart from the dreadful broadband

There was an unexpected distant sea view, which was appreciated.. Wi-fi was more than limited, it was non-existent. This situation is known to the owner and he is attempting to get the matter resolved. The lodge is well situated and we found it a very quiet location.

July 2018
The location was really lovely with views across to Saltburn.. The owner was very obliging in anything he could do to make it comfortable. There was a problem with the doors sticking to open and close, this was due to the very hot weather which had distorted them. A very lovely holiday with no hitches at all and was enjoyed by myself (who was looking forward to a relaxing holiday after long illness) my daughter and also the dog who loved the lawns and fields around.

I had a great week at Sycamore Lodge.. The owner, Steve was very helpful and the lodge was clean and comfortable. The location was great being within easy distance of a beach where my dog could run around and play; as well as being not too far away from places such as Whitby, Staithes, and Runswick Bay which I explored. I would certainly recommend this lovely lodge, and may return to stay there another time.

All was good with the chalet, comfortable and clean.. It held together through the biggest storm of the 'decade'. We thoroughly enjoyed the nearby places, our usual visits Saltburn and a drive over the moors to Danby centre. Also our first visit to Redcar a wonderful surprise I can recommend. On returning from days out we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the decking after our meal in the peace and quiet of the beautiful grounds.

The quiet location and the peacefulness, the lodge was warm and cosy even in the sub zero temperatures some mornings, there was plenty of hot water which has been lacking in some places we have stayed, there was a bath which was nice to relax in after a long days walking.. The lodge had everything we needed from an iron to a hairdryer, the owner Steve was very friendly and helpful.

The location was great.. We were in a quiet location, which was nice. views were spectacular. We traveled a short distance to whitby, Robin hoods bay we even went to Scarborough for the day. We were never short if anything to do. The lodge was very clean. It was cozy like home from home. The biggest thing for me and my partner was the beds, we both have bad backs and struggle to sleep on uncomfortable mattresses. But the mattresses were very comfortable we had the best nights sleep. Steve the owner was very welcoming. We are already looking at booking again. Highly recommended

The Lodge was very comfortable, warm and cosy.. It was in a very quiet area. You didn`t have to travel far to the beach, next time I will book in the summer as it rained and was very windy and wet. That didn`t spoil it for us. Steve, the owner was very helpful, he came to see us to see if we were ok and if there was anything he could help us with. We will book again, next time for the full week. Thank you for everything. Mr and Mrs Lawson Carnforth Lancashire

I took my 86 year old mother and two sisters for one week, we were made very welcome from start to finish nothing was to much for the owner Stephen.. The lodge was of high standard with everything inside that made it so comfortable and cosy, I would defiantly recommend anyone else to pay this lodge a visit and enjoy the surrounding sites with all the comforts of home from home. Thank you for giving me and my family memories to treasure x
