This is a honest review from 17 family members The whole house needs a through deep clean, our bedroom which was no 3 the extractor fan was not working & as a result there no no ventilation & the smell was terrible which crept into sleeping area . Having older members of our family the back door mat is a bad trip hazard also outside the back door there is a cigarette butt holder which is not only complete full & overflowing it hasn’t been emptied for months . (We don’t smoke) . The bedding is very old flat & stained & we didn’t have a bottom sheet on our bed just a dirty protector . If we had been staying longer we would have complained straight away . We understand the house is up for sale but that does not excuse the lack of cleanliness. With a little bit of TLC & updating it would be a lovely house

What a wonderful honey pot this place is. Situated within walking distance of beaches that may have well been private, they were that secluded and quiet. I can’t praise the owners enough for putting up with my questions prior to our stay. My husband and I visited with our 4 children aged 3 - 11 years, along with my parents who have both been diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. I needed to ensure that everything would be catered for & it most certainly was! I am particularly OCD when it comes to cleanliness and I can honestly say the property was was spotless. The hot tub was a real hit with the children as well as the beautifully maintained gardens in which we could all play hide and seek, around the property. I think our whole family can agree our favourite memory is being welcomed to the property with fresh homemade donuts in a wicker basket. We will most defiantly be rebooking next year for 2023!

We have just stayed here for the week for my dad's 80th birthday. There was 18 of us over 4 generations. We had vast amounts of space and some nice quiet sitting areas when the kids became too much lol. Phil and Sam were amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We were not sure about booking as read a couple of bad reviews and I really don't understand a lot of the comments. The place was immaculately clean and smelt beautiful, the kitchen had more than we needed in the way of equipment Inc 3 x 4 slice toaster, 3 kettles, 2 full sized cookers, 3 fridges and 2 freezers. The hot tub was perfect to relax in and we had 8 people in as it was very large. It was clean and smelt fine. We had 6 cars between us and there was still room for several more on the drive and we didn't even use the garages available. Lovely sea views and it all made my dad's birthday extra special. We will certainly book again if we have any special event coming up that we all want to attend

After seeing Ian P’s post below I feel I have to add our experience. As both are the same. 12 of us stayed here from Saturday 4th June To Saturday 11th June. All 4 people who used the Hot Tub broken out in rashes. We had thought this was prickly heat however it wasn’t. It was never used again. The bedding in the bedrooms is old and flimsy. Not 100% it was cleaned properly. One of the sinks in the small bathroom was leaking. Door handles are broken. One of the ovens in the kitchen doesn’t work. The main fridge freezer doors don’t close properly. The freezer is un-usable. It is think with frost and the fridge freezes food. There is a strong smell of dampness in the house. The main living room - couches are old, dirty and falling to pieces. There was old food under the couch from previous occupants. The rug was covered in pet hairs and was very dirty. Not all windows open in the house which is a risk if there is a fire. Main concern was the bedroom windows not opening. Outside area - picnic tables in the rear garden are covered in bird poop. Also the main table at the hot tub. Given these concerns have been raised by previous occupants I can safely safe they have not been address.

Excellent lodge catering for a very large, Muslim group. Fantastic building, up to date furniture and decor. Kitchen is modern with a number of appliances including washing machine, 2 fridge freezers. Everything is taken care of. Very close to the beach. Would highly recommend this property and the owners are very attentive. Don’t believe the rubbish comments you hear from others. Book now

I stayed here as a group of 19 for a long awaited family reunion at the beginning of June. Every aspect of the house was perfect, it catered for all ages with great accessibility and quiet areas away when desired! I was slightly apprehensive after reading some of the comments regarding cleanliness and pet hair as several members have allergies; however the house was spotless from top to bottom and we couldn’t find fault if we tried. There was plenty of room and equipment even with such a large party and the combination of this with the location has meant that we have already discussed coming back to stay at this great accommodation in the near future! Overall great holiday experience and would recommend to anyone considering.

The property has plenty of space to not feel on top of each other, the hot tub is a bonus and a nice treat at the end of a day - fairy lights would have been a nice touch as it was quite dark ( the outside lights did not work). the property was warm and the water was hot. Good location - just out of Scarborough but a nice walk in. lovely beaches close by. Gardens are well kept and plenty of parking. However the property is in need of a good thorough clean, cooker door was filthy, mattresses need replacing (springs poking through), bedding updating ( some beds didn't have mattress protectors on), towels were bleach stained, shower was dirty with mould and general maintenance - door handles need fixing, fridge door mending, bulbs replaced in lamps, the list could go on!! Luckily none of it spoilt our stay but tlc is definitely needed especially for the price of the property.

Some of the beds need new mattresses ,and a thorough clean would be advised . Cooker door was Brocken and not been cleaned . None of the clocks work just need new batteries !! The dishwasher has lost its bottom wheels so it doesn’t run . It’s a great family house but just needs some TLC and not up to standard for the amount of money you pay .

With everything going on in the world at the moment with covid19, a staycation was soooo needed. Samantha and Phil have been amazing. Such an easy booking process and great price. The house is incredible and the perfect walk away from Scarborough itself. We are already looking at dates when we can return. The beds are so comfy and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything that is needed. What a perfect find! Thank you

Great accommodation and location.. We were a party of 11adults, 4 children, a baby and 2 dogs (Big family!) Ages ranged from 83yrs down to 10 months. The house had plenty of space for us to be all together and to separate out for quieter time. The dinning room accommodated is all with ease. Enclosed garden was great for the dogs and huge garage for bike storage etc. Hot tub was great! Kitchen had all the equipment needed to cook for big numbers and loads of fridge and freezer space.House was clean and well equipped and the owner really helpful. A great week! Highly recommended!!

We arrived for the weekend a last minute booking.. 19 of us ages ranging from 2 upto 60 and 3 dogs. We all really enjoyed getting together but also having enough room to have your own space. We walked to the beach and then onto the seafront toolk about 30-45 mins we did have some little legs so it could be done quicker. The lodge had everything we needed. We will 100% return in the near future thank you.

Spent the weekend at this gorgeous cottage celebrating a 30th birthday. The rooms were clean and very comfortable with lots of space. The cottage was in a great location and not far from the town. We enjoyed a dip in the hot tub and were amazed by how many of you can get in there. Phil was amazing with communication and even went out his way to post items back that were left there. Would highly recommended this cottage and will definitely be using it again the future.

Have just spent a weekend at this great property and can't praise it enough.. The house had everything we needed and with 14 adults, 1 toddler and 2 dogs, having 2 cookers is just brilliant and makes it so easy to cater for everyone. We had a fantastic visit and really felt comfortable and at home there. Would definitely recommend and hoping to return very soon.

We had an excellent weekend at Seacrest Lodge.. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless. All the beds were very comfortable. There were clear instructions left for us of the hot tub and showers, light switches, rubbish collection etc. Phil and Samantha were most helpful when we left some items after our stay and they are posting them back. I would recommend this cottage for a family getogether and we can't wait to go back!

Spent a week at sea crest with our family of 12 adults & 5 grand children Absolutely had a great time cottage was really clean loads of space , all bedrooms good sizes Only thing would have helped if extra shower upstairs as only one in en suite Would recommend this cottage to anyone stayed in a few and this was the best by far Great location near to Scarborough

February 2019
The house sleeps 20 however, with 12 adults and 3 children it felt just about right.. The house is very well presented. The reclining sofa's in the living room are perfect after a day out walking. The amount of space for parking was great after years of having to mess around with Permits and ensuring we swap tickets over each morning. We comfortably fit 6 cars within the property and there was easily enough room for 1 or 2 more without blocking anyone else in. Plenty of room in for food and drinks in the 2 fridge freezers and utility room. This is by far the best property we have rented in Scarborough. The only slight issues that we had found was the dial-up level of Internet coming from the WiFi (the owner spoke with BT and apparently the property will have Fibre broadband shortly, unfortunately this didn't happen during our stay), of which the owner was quick to deal with and respond. Communication was great. We have booked to stay again.

November 2018
This property was ideal for our stay in Scarborough.. It was a family party and there were 12 adults a baby & 3 dogs. There was a minor problem on arrival which was sorted immediately by the owner. Two of our party were celebrating a special anniversary while we were there so the large dining room was perfect. The whole house has been recently refurbished and is lovely (See the updated photos on the website). There was enough space for everyone, without being on top of each other. The enclosed rear garden was a bonus for the dogs. The kitchen was large and everything to cater for a large party was available. A Nice 20-25 Minute walk into Scarborough Centre via the beach or the Esplanade. Would recommend this property to any family group wanting a get to gather in the Scarborough area.

November 2018
I can't praise this property enough, as a family group of 19 and 4 dogs we had everything we needed.. The kitchen and its facilities were spot on for catering for large groups, lovely warm and comfortable lounge leading into a delightful conservatory. All bedrooms beautifully decorated and dressed. One minor comment, another shower room upstairs would have been great. Would definitely recommend staying at Seacrest Lodge.

September 2018
Before I go into the specifics of this review, I would like to tell you about the group.. We were a group of 12 people from one family the age group was late twenties to Mid 90s. The surrounding area had a lot to offer and Filey Whitby and York were all in easy reach out the property. The property was the problem. The upstairs had 4 bedrooms and only one had en suit facilities. Every one else had to go downstairs to shower and use the toilet. One of the rooms was basically a cupboard with no window. Downstairs had only en suit room so the rest of the guests had to use the same bathroom toilet and shower facilities. The shower room cubical was very small and so was the sink in that room. The temperature of the showers fluctuated depending on who was flushing the toilet and running a tap. There was a smell coming from the kitchen because the drains and pipe work were blocked. We had to use a plunger to clear the kitchen sink the bathroom sink and the bath. The fact that there were 2 plungers available would suggest that this problem had occurred before. The kitchen equipment was very basic and would not look out of place in your camping gear. Some of the pots were in poor condition with the non stick scraped away and handles melted. The cooker hood just did not work. There was a crack in the wall in the conservatory that let in a draught. Overall the house was in need of a refurbish. We have stayed in many houses before and have NEVER felt the need to complain but this needs to said for the sake of the future tenants, the Owners and Sykes cottages. Had there been a visitors book these issues could have been resolved much earlier than this. We enjoyed our holiday due to the area it’s in and the company NOT DUE TO THE ACCOMMODATION. We would not recommend this house. Unfortunately for Sykes its the first time we have used them as a medium to book a holiday and sadly reflects badly on them too.

September 2018
This property was advertised as an eight bedroomed house, one of the bedrooms involved crossing through the garage and one of them was a windowless glorified cupboard in the eaves.. Although there was plenty of living space we felt that the whole property was in need of a deep clean and possibly a bit of an refurbishment.

March 2018
Sixteen of us, aged 8 up to 96, went to Seacrest for a birthday celebration.. It was perfect for us. Although we spent most of the time in the huge lounge there was plenty of room to spread out with a large conservatory, dining room seating 20, and lovely well-equipped kitchen. The 60” TV was ideal and there were DVDs and books for us to use. Then there was the hot tub which could be used day or night. The driveway is big enough for 6 cars and there’s a double garage too. We would definitely go back.

Seacrest Lodge was a great location.. It exceeded my expectations in every way. Very well equipped for a large group, all crockery matched enough glasses for everyone. Two ovens, two fridges, two freezers, two kettles, two toasters . May sound basic but I have been in other properties sleeping large numbers but not equipped for it. Fabulous weekend thanks

We were delighted with the house and location.. The house was very clean when we arrived, comfortable beds. Plenty of space for our group of 15 to all sit around the dining table together. Spacious lounge. Two ovens, two large fridges, plus a hot tub which was a luxury. One morning the water was not draining away in the bath, I phoned the owner and someone came the same day to fix it. We would definitely recommend this house and hope to stay here again.

This house is in a great location and it has everything you need, perfect rooms and plenty of space so you don’t feel overcrowded, although I did not use the hot tub the rest of the family loved it. Would be nice to stay here in the hit summer months as it has a lovely garden and bbq.

We visited this lovely lodge last week for my Husbands 30th birthday. There were 20 of us in total and everything was just perfect!! Before we arrived, the communication between myself and Phil was excellent. Phil and Sam bent over backwards for us. The rooms were all beautifully presented with plenty of space. Phil and Sam even went to the trouble of supplying items such as tea and coffee and toothbrushes. There were plenty of family games to play whilst we were there. The youngest of our group was 2 and the eldest was 79- plenty to do for everyone!! We all had a fantastic week. Thank you Phil and Sam!! X

A party of 17 of us stayed at Sea Crest Lodge. The accommodation was spacious and suited everyone's needs. All of us were spread out and no body felt cramped. The accommodation was clean, and tidy however some said there was dust in their rooms (minor issue). The gardens are fantastic for outdoor games, BBQ's and dogs. The owners were attentive when we couldn't get the temperature in the tub right. Kitchen lacked a few useful utensils. All in all we had a fantastic weekend and we may return if we have that particular party size again. Thanks
