Area The River Tay runs through Dunkeld, and there are lots of spots to take in the scenery, whether it's from the cathedral grounds or the Taybank pub, where you could be lucky enough to hear some live music. The town itself dates from the 9th century and has a rich history spanning the Dark and Middle Ages to more modern history, including Thomas Telford's Tay bridge. Perthshire Big Tree Country encompasses the woodlands surrounding Dunkeld and adjacent Birnam, and is glorified in Shakespeare's "Scottish Play." The Hermitage is a National Trust forest including Ossian's Hall of Mirrors, a folly built on a rocky ledge near the Black Linn waterfalls as a monument to the 3rd century blind poet Ossian.
Region From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Beautiful house situated in fantastic grounds. We booked for 2 nights and had a wonderful break. Hosts Sean &Hannah were very helpful leading up to our stay, including sending over details of local walks within the area, and meeting us on arrival to make sure we were all settled. The house itself is beautifully decorated including a subtle Christmas touch to the lounges and entrance hall, which was really lovely. All the rooms are more than comfortable with plenty of space and it was really nice to see the décor in keeping with the history of the property, with modern upgrades, particularly within the ensuite bathrooms. The addition of the billiard room and huge dining room were also perfect for our group of 20 to socialise and dine together. There is nothing we could fault or change with Dungarthill House, we are already booked for next year and I'm sure many years to come..would highly recommend this stunning property!

Would have been nice if the local shoot hadn't been blasting poor birds out of the sky beside the house. Listening to gun shot all day wasn't pleasant
