Good bits. Lovely cottage in a beautiful area that is clean and well equipped.. Bad bits. No Broadband. Stove is too big for the room so lounge is unbearably hot whilst rest of the property is luke warm. Had a power cut one evening and overnight. Only realised the following morning that the electricity supply is by coin operated meter and didn't bring a supply of coins. Should have been made clear in the description beforehand so you can plan ahead and avoid any inconvenience.

We had a lovely holiday, rose cottage was lovely we loved the fact it was near woodland and the amount of wildlife we spotted was amazing.. We saw deer, woodpeckers, hares, squirrels and pheasants all in the garden. We went on some lovely walks in the area with our children and dog and then came back and enjoyed the log fire on an evening. Lovely time we would definitely return.

We very much enjoyed every aspect of this holiday.. The cottage was spotless when we arrived, and all amenities were available. Mrs. Jamieson, the owner, was very helpful, and kept us informed about the work being carried out by the utility company. The bird feeders in the garden attracted lots of different species, with pheasants and rabbits also paying a visit. We would highly recommend a visit to the lighthouses. The views out to sea and cliff faces are stunning. This was one of those holidays that we didn't want to end. All in all a great experience.

This is a delightful peaceful cottage with beautiful walks around it, ideal for summer, however can imagine in colder months could be cold, owner does have electric heaters and plenty of these but you will have to pay extra on the electric meter for them although 7 pound is put in meter on arrival, as she so rightly says this is to prevent heaters being left on when there is no need however property only has 2 storage heaters.. All in all I would definitely return in the summer months,

We loved the cottage, it was bigger than we thought it would be. A lovely thought the cakes and the wine, really nice touch. The teenage kids and the dog loved the freedom and privacy of the cottage without it being to isolated. We loved the beach that was close by with the lighthouse. You could stay on that beach or walk to some very secluded bays from there. Saw lots of wildlife from the cottage birds, birds and more birds, red squirrels and deer. Lots of shops nearby in Stranraer. We also travelled further to please the kids to Laggan outdoor centre to Zip wire, brilliant, a worthwhile visit. Couldn't recommend this lovely cottage enough, would love to come back.

We loved this little cottage, because of its' location, the huge garden (not totally dog-friendly but fine for well behaved dogs) and surrounding woodlands.. loch just nearbye, wonderful log burner (unlimited logs) very interesting countryside - very friendly helpful owner.. yummy choc. biscuits and bottle of wine provided. Would love to stay there again but a 7 hr. journey from us. Quite interesting places to visit, i.e. beaches, parks and gardens, all within a few miles. Nearest main supermarket was in Stranraer, but a little village store in Leswait itself. The coastline up to Girvan and beyond is alo interesting, and we did see seals.

Location was good for a holiday where we could go walking with our two dogs. The position of the cottage was ideal as it was situated in a quiet rural area but not to far away from local amenities.
