Set within the pine trees, this mountain home makes group stays feel uncomplicated. The main living space draws everyone together around the wood stove, while the kitchen – properly equipped with generous prep space and a five-burner range – handles everything from pancake breakfasts to long, lazy suppers. Bedrooms are thoughtfully spread out, including a tucked-away guest suite and a bunk room that younger guests will gravitate towards. There’s a second lounge for reading or board games, plus a deck for summer grilling. With trails, skiing and downtown Truckee close by, it’s an easygoing base with just enough polish.

Home truths:
*The primary bedroom is loft-style and open to the living room below, which means less sound privacy than a fully enclosed suite.

*A 4WD or AWD vehicle is strongly recommended in winter, as roads and driveways in Tahoe Donner can be snowy and icy.

*Parking is available for up to five vehicles (with driveway space for three). Street parking is not permitted within the community.

*Six guest cards are included for access to Tahoe Donner amenities. Each card is valid for one guest aged 3+, and a daily, non-transferable fee applies per person. Children under 3 are free.
