This apartment is housed in a listed palazzo that dates back to the 1500s. In the 17th century, the magnificent stucco work and frescoes were added. They’ve been carefully restored by the current owners, who’ve retained the charm and beauty of this Venetian home while ensuring guests can enjoy modern comforts. Stepping into the grand salon, with its 18-foot frescoed ceilings and impressive paintings, you get a taste of the Venice of the past. The apartment overlooks the canal to one side, and the palazzo’s private garden on the other. It’s in the heart of the Castello district, just a short walk from Piazza San Marco. There’s a Vaporetto stop nearby, so seeing the rest of the sights is a breeze.
Home truths: *There are stairs to climb at this home so it may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility.
*Bedroom two can be set up as a double instead of a twin room if preferred, just ask your host when booking.
*Bedroom four, the small single room, is accessed through bedroom three so it isn’t entirely private. We think this room is better suited to a child. While this room hasn’t been photographed, we expect the style and standard to be consistent with the rest of the home.
*There’s air conditioning on the mezzanine level and in the bedrooms on the first floor.
