The soft mint-coloured bedrooms also have a feeling of elegant farmhouse simplicity with their wrought iron bed frames, floral accents and wood-framed windows. Here it’s the gardens, though, that are the most awe worthy. Stroll around the grounds and you’ll find a series of sunny spots and shaded nooks to while away the hours. Spend the afternoon taking dips in the pool’s cool waters then head to the viewing point at sunset to watch the sky turn amber and pink against the silhouetted hills. Enjoy a glass of wine here before fixing up a feast in the traditional kitchen, or head to the pergola for a barbecue under the stars.
