Gazing up at the hand-painted frescoed ceiling, it's no surprise that we fell in love with this suite-style studio apartment. Though it's pocket-sized, it certainly packs a punch – after all, not much beats waking up to the sight of a lyre-playing goddess in a palazzo with ties to the Medici family. The kitchenette is only suitable for snacks, but there's a full-sized one in the building (as well as a large lounge) that's shared with other residents. As for location, you'll be based in trendy Santo Spirito just south of the river. Palazzo Pitti, Ponte Vecchio, and some of the best eateries in the city are all at your fingertips here.
Home truths: *The kitchen in this studio apartment is very compact. There's only a small hob, a mini-fridge, and a microwave. We think it's best for light bites. However, there's a full-size kitchen in the building that is shared with other residents. There is also a communal lounge and mini-gym here.
*You'll have to climb one flight of stone stairs to reach this apartment.
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot upon request.
*Please note that there isn't a washing machine here, though there are launderettes nearby. It may not be the best fit for long-term stays.
