This rustic villa caught our eye for its remote location and peaceful countryside surroundings (best enjoyed off the secret terrace accessed from the fifth bedroom). The nearest town of Ambra lies 10km away, so car hire is essential – though there'll be no interruptions here. You'll find plenty of tranquil outside spaces from which to soak up the glorious setting – from the swimming pool, garden and dining area to the tennis court, bocce court and table tennis space (you've also got a well-equipped gym). And, while the traditional interiors might not be to everyone's taste, keen chefs will love the modern kitchen, which makes alfresco cooking a delight.
Home truths: *Due to this home's location, you'll need to hire a car to get around. There's private parking within the grounds for up to three vehicles. The approach road is uneven so please take care upon arrival.
*The villa is set over multiple floors with internal stairs. There is one double bedroom on the ground floor.
*The twin beds in the third bedroom can be converted into a double bed.
*The pool is only available for use from May to September. The pool isn't fenced so children will need to be supervised at all times.
*The traditional decor here might not be to everyone's taste. It feels a little dated in parts.
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free upon request.
