Lovely quirky little cottage down a tiny country lane. Make sure to follow the owner's directions into the lane it would be impossible to drive into the driveway if you go the wrong way! Lots to see nearby, Chard reservoir lovely for walks and not far to the coast. A very pleasant week!

We booked last minute, for the middle of July. We stayed for two hours. I have never entered and viewed such a dirty property, booked through the holiday cottage company that rhymes with dykes. The hosts were telephoned to remedy the issue in all rooms, but we were unconvinced that they could clean, since they let it out in such a state. We found a hotel for the night and went onto an airbnb place next day. We were not reimbursed or had a response to our complaint.

The cottage was generally as described and a great location for visiting local towns etc.. Given the current C19 pandemic and the extra cleaning that we were expecting to have been done we were disappointed with what we found, there were issues relating to the property that should be addressed: Lounge - the central heating radiator didn't work at all, there was a small oil filled radiator at the other end of the room not sure if this was supposed to be in addition to the CH system or extra. We propped open the dining room door and this allowed the heat from there to circulate into the lounge. There weren't cables from each of the TV boxes to the TV and no instructions. A small bin would have been useful. Dining room - very comfortable and homely. Kitchen - when we arrived all the crockery, glasses, cutlery etc. had a dusty/gritty residue as the dishwasher didn't seem to be able to rinse properly - probably needs a good clean. Some of the cupboard door were dirty with grease and finger marks. The non-stick cooking trays has burned on residue from previous use which was easy enough to wash off but should not be for us to do on arrival. Bedrooms - the double bed made us roll toward the middle, it wasn't until the last morning we discovered that the longitudinal bar underneath supporting the middle was in fact toward one side. As a result of this one of us slept in the twin room where the bed was in fact very comfortable, but not what we had wanted. Bathroom - the shower screen was very dirty with limescale and has obviously not been cleaned for many months.

The cottage was really lovely and we enjoyed the week.. The cottage was very well furnished, clean, warm, and comfortable and with everything we needed on hand. Lots of thoughtful comforts. I even got used to the creaky springs in the double bed! The owner had advised us of the easiest way to drive in and out of the lane, but we did have issues parking and manoeuvring with the Freelander and had to park on the road. Yes! we would certainly come again.

The only thing missing was a clothes airer to hang washing on,as the line was very short & in the bushes, but this is a tiny niggle in an otherwise lovely, comfortable cottage in beautiful surroundings..
