Stayed at bowlers yard cottage for a week in September, as soon as walked into the cottage it smelt clean, it was immaculate, so spacious, it looked newly done but obviously from previous reviews it isn't new, it's just kept perfectly. The cottage, (or bungalow) had absolutely everything you could possibly want, there was a huge bowl of fresh fruit, vase of beautiful fresh flowers, milk in the fridge, and a bottle of the apple juice made at the vineyard (unfortunately they had sold all the wine!!) Yes the sofa was the only item that was a little worse for wear, but even that was comfy, and as we had a dog it was nice to have him cuddle up on there. The only thing I would suggest is take a shower cap if you don't want to get hair wet, as the shower is really lovely, but you can't use it as hand held. Some nice walks, dovedale was about an hour away, but well worth the journey, beautiful. 10 out of 10 for the accommodation for cleanliness, equipment, hospitality and everything else. Perfect.

The converted stables is well decorated and immaculate (apart from the huge sofa which is to be replaced soon) and spotlessly clean.. Impressed by the well-planned open space as well as the amount of good quality kitchen equipment; yet still enough space for food storage (lack of food storage space is a too frequent problem in many holiday properties). Very comfortable beds, and a well stocked library of books and DVDs. It is in a quiet rural location with the relaxing sounds of birds with bucolic views over fields from the sunny patio and decked area, and set in a vineyard with free-roaming chickens. The on-site vineyard owner Johnathon is a very enthusiastic winemaker. He gave us a tour and tasting and the rest of the bottle to finish later. Easy access to several National Trust or English Heritage properties and other attractions, as well as trails through Sherwood Forest.

We spent a relaxing week here as a base, as we moved into a new house in Bolsover.. With two cats and an elderly Mum, it could have been quite stressful but having this beautiful, peaceful cottage to return to every day meant the move was really smooth. It was truly a home from home and offered a wonderful sense of calm and comfort - a real life saver. We were made to feel so welcome with a lovely hamper and fresh flowers. The cottage was beautifully appointed and felt relaxing and happy, surrounded by countryside views and the vineyards. Not to mention a couple of chatty chickens by the car. It was safe, very comfortable and offered a true sanctuary from the stress of moving house. I left my iPad on the bin in the rush of packing up and was so relieved to be able to collect it two days later safe and sound from the very courteous owners. Thank you!

Ideal place for visiting the Dukeries.. Unbelievably quiet and tucked away with some good dog walks on a safe lane and a country park. Set in a vineyard!

We absolutely loved our week visit at Bowler yard cottage. All the little extras made it a very cosy and welcoming accommodation. Flowers, coffee, biscuits, milk ect everything was here for us. This place is very clean and well kept. It is beautiful in the winter I can only imagine the summer. Thank you for a lovely stay and we look forward to returning one day.

The cottage was very clean, is well equipped and has comfortable beds.. When we arrived, there were fresh flowers in the lounge area and other basics (tea, coffee, milk etc.) were all there. In addition, the owners had left a bowl of fresh fruit and some apple juice from their orchard, a nice thought. The location is just a few minutes drive out of Mansfield in a nice and quiet rural location but close enough for easy access to shops, pubs, restaurants etc.. Would be happy to stay again.

Just returned from our brilliant holiday at Bowler cottage .. The cottage looks really good on the Sykes website but when we arrived it was even better than expected. The layout of the cottage is perfect for a family with pets, it was lovely and clean when we arrived, the views are great and the welcome pack even better. The owners ( the Womack’s) are very friendly and helpful, giving us plenty of local information. Will definitely be recommending the cottage to our friends and will hopefully be returning soon.

Perfect 3 week stay for our family with 2 young children.. A great location that is close to local attractions and has lovely local walks. The cottage itself was a perfect size and has a well resourced kitchen as well as books, dvds and games. It was so lovely to arrive to little touches like coffee, milk and a well stocked fruit bowl. The attention to detail is perfect. We are considering rebooking for future stays in the area.

Myself my wife, stepson and our family dog pip stayed at bowler yard cottage monday to friday.. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and couldn’t wish for better comfort. The owners live near by and told us that anything we needed just ask,but we had everything we could possibly need in the property and they never intruded and left us to enjoy our break. There was a complimentary bowl of assorted fruit on arival and a beautiful vase of fresh flowers. We had a few days out with local attractions which is close by. Its in a quiet area which is very relaxing but there are shops bars and restaurants not too far away. We had the best 4 nights sleep we have had in avery long time as the beds were so comfortable. There are always good walks for people with their dogs. We will certainly be returning again in the future and have recomended it to our friends and family. Kind regards Mr & mrs jason fairfield

Although accommodation very clean with nice touches like fruit and flowers, everything was easy to find and use (thanks to manuel folder), only thing we have marked accommodation down for was uncomfortable sofa, it was very low and we both found it difficult to get out of.. Reason why we wouldn't consider re-booking is that we like to try different locations, but we would recommend this accommodation if people like to be in rural locations, there are foot paths to nearest village for the walkers.

Absolutely amazing place to stay! The finishing touches made it, fresh flowers, fruit bowl filled, biscuits, and milk. We loved it so much we extended our stay and would have stayed longer if it hadn't been booked up. Beds were so comfy loved it.
