The accommodation is really high quality. Three good sized bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room and three bathrooms (all with good quality showers). The cottage is well heated and insulated and towels and bedding are also provided. The owners are really friendly, lovely people, and you will find coffee, tea, milk and wine left for you on arrival, just what you need after a long drive! The location is fantastic, peaceful and relaxing a great place to escape from the stress of work, yet just a short drive from the towns of Alnwick and Morpeth. The cottage is also just a short drive from many of Northumbria's glorious sandy beaches, ideal for a young family. This is our 5th or 6th stay at this place and we will definitely be booking again next year. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The cottage and location were excellent, very clean and tidy and everything worked as it should do.. (Apart from the lock in the main bathroom which had to have a good slam to make it shut).l know l should have mentioned it to Mrs Proctor but we didn't get the opportunity. Other than that everything else was great and we look forward to going back next year.

There are so many things to love about this property.. Spotlessly clean with crisp white bed linen, fluffy towels, top quality furnishings and every home comfort thought of such as fresh milk, wine and a fruit cake awaiting when we arrived. Friendly helpful owners, and what a setting - the really well kept grounds perfect for sitting out on the decking and peacefully enjoying the Northumberland countryside.

Apple tree cottage is a luxurious lodge with loads of space, great finishings and a super garden to enjoy.. It is peaceful and the very thoughtful extras which were included, such as homemade bread, wine and biscuits on arrival were a lovely touch. We had a very relaxing stay with everything we could have hoped for in a self- catering lodge and much more! We would definitely recommend it and would very happily stay there again if we are back in that area.

Apple Tree Lodge is a very clean and well appointed pine lodge in the grounds of Old Swarland Hall.. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, Mrs Proctor, who had left us wine, biscuits and freshly made bread. All in all a well a beautiful place to enjoy what the area has to offer. We had originally booked different accommodation but was told by Sykes, in November, that it was not available due to scheduled maintenance issues. This seemed odd as you would think any issues would be sorted through the winter months rather than in mid to high season. When we visited the site of the original accommodation, there were no signs of maintenance anywhere. What actually happened I do not know but we were very happy with our second choice and would certainly book it again.

The cottage was really well presented, very clean and comprehensively equipped.. The weather during the first full week of May was cold and wet - just as well then that the cottage was so good. Mr and Mrs Proctor were really friendly and helpful - we would recommend this property without a second thought. Thank you.

The Lodge was exactly as described and included a lovely welcome pack.. The owners were extreemly welcoming ,friendly and helpful. Very quiet and peaceful. Several gastro pubs nearby and all but one welcomed our dog. Fantastic beaches nearby and lots to do.

This is a lovely, spacious family holiday house.. We were there for Christmas and the welcome pack and Christmas decorations were much appreciated. The only criticisms would be the excessive number of scatter cushions in every room and the artificial plants - all of which had to be moved out of the way during our stay. The other thing that caused us some discomfort was the very small television high up on the wall in the corner of the room - not good!

Apart from our visits to Alnwick Castle and gardens, seeing the Puffins on the Inner Farne, and visiting the best pound for pound attraction I have been to in many years at Beamish, the apart but was Mrs Proctor the owner.. She was the icing on the cake for us. Always a smile and nothing too much trouble for her. The property was spotlessly clean, well furnished and with all facilities. The property is ideally situated as a base to visit the many attractions in Northumberland. Staying at Apple Lodge is a pleasure, you could do a lot worse but it would be very difficult to do any better.

Mr & Mrs Proctor are very approachable, they had thought about the essentials on arrival, wine, cake and bread, very thoughtful.. The lodges are extremely comfortable, very warm and very clean. All facilities are modern and efficient, hot water is plentiful and the heating can be set to just how you like it. The location is just about right, it is a very rural position but only 10mins away from shops, public house etc. The lodges are within a working farm environment so you will get the sounds and smells that go with farming, so don't be surprised when they are feeding the cattle at 7.30 in the morning, although we never heard anything once inside the lodge. Overall a great weeks holiday in a nice location with friendly hosts who try to think of everything.

The property was of outstanding quality and beautifully kept. The owner was very nice and friendly and helpful. The Lodge was 'off the beaten track' and lovely and quiet, just what we wanted, absolutely top notch. As a family we generally rent detached cottages/cabins/lodges and this is as good as anything we have rented, at any price!
