Lovely hosts who were contactable if needed.. Very welcoming. The cottage was the cleanest we have ever stayed in. The beds were really comfy and there was everything we needed in the cottage for our stay. Perfect location to explore the northumberland coastline. We would highly recommend the cottage and we would definately stay again.

This cottage was spotlessly clean, much appreciated in these difficult times.. It was ideal for a long awaited family holiday and our grandson (20 months) was thrilled by the tractors and farm equipment. The cottage is ideal for exploring the Northumberland coast and very comfortable to come back to. It is very well equipped with plenty of space ant the washer/dryer and dishwasher were a boon. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners and allowing our grandson to sit in the cab of a tractor was the highlight of his trip! It also made us all realise just how hard farmers work. Thank you to Dorothy, Brian & family for a lovely stay.

Location excellent.. Well positioned for beaches and places to visit. 10 minutes from Alnwick. Cottage has rugged farmhouse style furniture and fittings. Minimal ornaments. This made it perfect for 3 children aged 5 to 11 allowing us to relax and not worry about things getting broken. Cottages are well built as no sound from neighbours. We checked and our kids had not been heard! Beautiful location on farm. Owners friendly and approachable. Garden large and secure for kids. Overall excellent. The score of 7 has nothing to do with this excellent property. It was due to Sykes not offering customers refunds during lockdown. Remember customers are your business without them you do not exist.

Bilton Barns is a good place to stay.. Very quiet secluded location with easy access to any of the areas of the Northumberland coastline. A good size lounge and dining kitchen, upstairs three good size bedrooms and two good bathrooms. My only criticism would be that the cottage would benefit from some updating, the furniture and lounge carpet are showing signs of age and use, and one of the bed mattresses could certainly benefit from being replaced. Overall though, for the price we paid, I would recommend the property for a couple or family.

Brian’s Cottage at Bilton Barns is a very comfortable holiday home and I can highly recommend it.. Dorothy and Brian were very welcoming and were available if any problems had arisen. My grand children loved playing in the safe lawn area, where they made friends with the children from another cottage, and interested to watch the barley being harvested and stored in the barn.

Our holiday in Brian's Cottage was good and as expected from the description on Sykes' website.. However, the Bilton's Barns' own website (dated 2015) needs updating - still shows bunk beds for Brian's Cottage and the fact that towels are not provided, which is not the case. Lots of information within the cottage showing footpaths and other places to visit. Well stocked kitchen. Owners are very obliging if there are any problems.

Excellent facilities and location, and very spacious accommodation.. Usual minor drawback in holiday homes of medium/soft mattresses that do not help if you have a back problem.

The Cottage was very comfortable with everything in that we needed. It had had great parking and a lovely big garden for the children to use. We had a fab holiday and found the cottage very well situated for the area we wished to explore.

A lovely house, one of the very best we have ever stayed in. In a good location and very quiet; an excellent base for exploring, walking, site seeing and near to fantastic beaches. Edinburgh easily reachable by local train station. We have had a fantastic week, many thanks.

Brian's Cottage was perfect for our needs. We found it to be well appointed without fripperies. Particularly the lounge seating was comfortable and well suited to the four of us watching TV. The fire was welcome and easy to light, so a pleasure. The little extras were very welcome especially towel rails. Everything WORKED and did its job so it was easy to be on holiday there. The position of cottages is ideal, it's so beautiful and so quiet, yet so handy for lots of routes and day trips. The 2 of us cycling loved having the cycle routes right at the 'gate'. I will warmly recommend these cottages. Thank you to the owner.

A great open plan kitchen - well equipped, clean and fresh. The girl who looked for, recommended and booked Bilton Barns was most friendly and helpful to us. The farm was lovely and the owners are great, we had a lovely welcome from them. A great place to stay. A warm house with a great woodburning stove.

We were very pleased with the facilities at Brians Cottage. Everything we needed and more besides including a dishwasher. Be happy to go back again.

An excellent house for families with young children due to the secure enclosed garden and being away from the main road. The house itself is very comfortable.

The cottage was very homely and had everything that we needed. The location was peaceful and relaxing but not too far from the beach at Alnmouth where we spent a lot of time with our two year old daughter. Alnwick was also close enough for the essential supermarket shopping. If you have young children I would highly recommend The Lion's Den play centre in Alnwick.

This is our first experience of a cottage holiday in the UK (we usually go abroad). It was fantastic accommodation, just like home and it will certainly not be the last time we repeat this type of holiday.

The garden was very good for the kids to kick a ball, etc. Quiet, comfortable. Only a short drive to Alnwick Castle - this was great! Well positioned for day trips from Newcastle to Edinburgh.

The enclosed garden was perfect for our little boy, as he could run around and we knew he couldn't escape anywhere unsafe. It was also brilliant for the beach at Alnmouth which was only 5 mins away.
