This is the second time our group have stayed at this house. It is a lovely property plenty of room inside and out, set in its own extensive grounds. whilst we had a problem with the washing machine which was quickly sorted out by the owner .. It is an old property which adds to the enjoyment but would suit a group who are happy with its uniqueness including the aga cooker. There are 6 bedrooms of varying sizes many with lovely views over the valley and Bolton Castle. 3 reception rooms also add to its spaciousness.
we greatly enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful short break in this fabulous house.. Both the house and gardens are perfect for a family or mixed group as there is plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing. Also great for dogs, our two loved it, especially being able to go in the stream directly from the garden. We spent most of our time in the large cosy kitchen where the aga was permanently on. The house is beautiful but also has a lived in family feel to it. Would definitely recommend. There are also lots of walks directly from your doorstep.

The kitchen was well appointed with the Aga making the room lovely and cosy and plenty of room at the very long table for us all to eat together.. 3 lounges allowed us to spread out
Beds were comfortable
Nice large fluffy towels
wood burner in the one lounge made it very cosy
The children loved the garden but would have like to have paddled in the Beck which we could not get to.
Plenty of parking room under the trees so the cars kept cool.

The kitchen had absolutely everything we could have possibly needed.. And we had really great communication with our hsot over the weekend - really responsive and checking in to make sure we were settled.

The house was huge and exactly the space we needed for a big family with dogs so we had a great time.. The beds and towels were clean but the only thing I would say is the house felt like it needed a good clean. It's a big old house so we didn't expect it to be shiny but there were big cobwebs hanging from the ceilings and dead spiders in the corners in some rooms. It's a great location for some lovely walks, cooking on the aga was amazing, we had a supermarket delivery the day we arrived so it worked out perfectly. We did walk to the local pub in West Burton one day and ate there which I would not recommend, the food was awful. Overall we had a fantastic weekend!

Flanders Hall is a unique period property with lots of character.. It isn't a museum, it's a very much loved and lived in home. It made a perfect house for a get together with old school friends, particularly as we had visited it before, back in the 1980s. We were delighted to find it was just as lovely as we remembered it. There are good quality appliances and very comfortable beds. We enjoyed the challenge of cooking on the Aga and found the instructions left by the owners really clear. We never had to cheat and use the electric oven! It is also in a wonderful location in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales - the locals are very friendly and welcoming. All in all we had an amazing week.

Flanders Hall was the real thing - full of welcoming family character without fussy knicknackery! Thoughtful and helpful manual for guests, everything worked efficiently, and the space and comfort were fantastic. Lovely setting too, even in a very cold and wet week. Perfect for our family gathering - we hope to come back.

This place is so good I really don't want to review it or everyone will go there and I won't be able to get back.. In the middle of moors and waterfalls, glorious rustic charm. Lovely comfy beds. Anyone who wants rural space, peace and a touch of luxury with no pretension will fall in love with Flanders Hall as I did.

Flanders Hall is a lovely, old, spacious house - ideal for a family get-together and set on the outskirts of a pretty village.. However, kitchen cooking equipment is lacking ie no baking trays for putting in the ovens. Another shower in the bathroom would help as we only had one shower between ten. The bath, though it looked good, was difficult to use for very young children and older members of the family. It didn't bother us 'oldies' that the wi-fi never seemed to connect but we then had to spend the week with a grumpy teenager!!!! Perhaps you need to change the wording about having wi-fi as it was impossible to connect.

Really enjoyed our time at Flanders hall.. Loved the Aga and drying rack over it. Beds really comfortable and lots of space. Lovely bath and useful having separate shower room with 3 toilets in total. Lots of crockery and cooking equipment which was useful and glad of large fridge freezer. The grand piano was a very enjoyable extra and lots of toys available if children were there. Great setying for walks and exploring area with extensive grounds at the hall

Flanders Hall is a lovely property in a great location.. The facilities were good but an extra shower and toilet would have made it even better.

The location of flanders hall is idyllic.. The gardens were beautiful but would be alot easier with dogs if they were enclosed.
Could also do with extra shower room / bathroom with the number of people it can take bit overall we all had a wonderful holiday.

I had my 80th birthday at Flanders Hall over a sunny May Bank Holiday.. It was a perfect setting for an informal celebration, the large kitchen accommodating all the family and plenty of space in the three sitting rooms. We enjoyed drinks in the beautiful lawned garden with sweeping views across the meadows to Castle Bolton on the horizon. A walk to Asgarth Falls where the younger generation swam was one of many highlights. This is a comfortable house, full of character and artistic touches. We were sad to leave and look back on a week of wonderful memories. Thank you Jo.

A wonderful place for a special birthday gathering.. We were blessed with the weather too and west burton and the surrounding area were spectacular in the late spring - many birds, wildflowers, and of course excellent walking.

We came here as a group of 11 friends looking to walk in the Dales. This house is in a great location, alongside the river and a short walk to the village centre and to Cauldron Falls where we saw salmon leaping upstream. The local walks were fine for us 60+ year olds but clearly there are more challenging expeditions in the locality .

This beautiful house is in the most stunning area. Out of every window the views are breathtaking. Good pub within walking distance. We were a large family group of 12, with 4 small children. There was so much room for them to run about safely. The owner was extremely helpful. I cannot think of anything I would have changed. Perfect.

Truly amazing house situated in a lovely village with a friendly pub. It has everything to cater for all members of the party, 2 and 4 legged. We took full advantage of the amazing gardens, walks from the front door and well equipped kitchen. All the rooms were large and beds comfortable. The bus into Leyburn was quite the adventure, the driver had never picked up 12 passengers from West Burton...we may go down in local history! If your looking for a large venue for friends and or family I'd highly recommend Flanders Hall, we had an amazing week.

We were a group of 12 - myself, husband, 6 children and 4 of their partners. Age range 17 - 60. Hit the jackpot with this property and then some! Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park amidst the most breathtaking scenery. The house is fabulous. More room than we knew what to do with and very well equipped. Perfect for catering for large, mixed age groups as plenty of space to all congregate together socially but more than enough rooms / gardens for smaller groups.
I cannot rate this house highly enough. It is just simply magnificent. We had an amazing week there and were genuinely sad to leave. Everything about it was just wonderful.
We took a croquet set with us and that was very well used on the lawn in front of the house. Just next to that there is another separate lawn with a football net. One evening all the girls sloped off inside leaving all the fellas to put the worlds to rights around the firepit in the orchard.
The house was situated a very short walk from the village green where we made use of the pub, village shop and the green. Locals were very friendly and helpful. It was a brilliant base to sightsee from with lots of local things to see and do. We did Aysgarth Falls (took a picnic and spent all afternoon there), Wensleydale Creamery, Hawes Ropemakers, The old Saw Mill and Bolton Castle. Visited Leyburn several times as large Co-Op there and some lovely little independent shops.
Jo (one of the owners) was incredibly helpful in the lead up to the holiday and gave us lots of useful local information and was beyond patient with the numerous queries I had. Her sister Caroline (who we met at the Hall) was charming. Again - very friendly and helpful.
I genuinely cannot recommend Flanders Hall enough. I'd go back tomorrow in a heartbeat and we are already planning another family holiday there. In short - book this house. You will be blown away. We were.

This house was absolutely fabulous. We had a fantastic week. My grandkids loved it. My daughter-in-law's parents, from Poland loved it too.
Will definitely book again, sometime next year.
