The key collection was awkward, parking was not ideal for pensioners having to carry luggage a 100 yards to the cottage.. The shower access was very difficult.

It was our first time in this cottage, it was spotlessly clean , well equipped and everything you need , swimming pool to use was lovely .. Fabulous spot down by the river, loved the steam trains going past , also very nice walk into Whitby via the cinder path across the viaduct fabulous views (and no need to take car which makes a nice change) . We most certainly will return.

Nice welcoming pack of tea, coffee and wine provided by friendly owner.. Facilities in the house and communal areas were excellent. Location quiet and walkable along a novel cinder track (disused railway line ) into Whitby if you can manage a steep hill at the start. Worth considering as a base to visit the area.

Cottage is comfortable and clean with everything needed for our stay.. Arrangements about picking up key easily sorted with a call from the owner a few days before arrival. Complimentary coffee items and a bottle of wine waiting for us at the cottage on arrival.

The cottage was comfortable and cosy the kitchen was a bit of a squash and a squeeze with two people in.. Overall it was a quiet spot with well maintained outside areas. WiFi was a problem went fine for three days tried all ways to reconnect again it wouldn’t. Great for getting into Whitby lovely walk on the cinder path which took twenty minutes.
