This lovely cottage is situated a stone's throw from an array of shops, cafes and restaurants in Whitby town centre.
If you love history, head to the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, seven minutes on foot, or the ruined Whitby Abbey, which inspired Bram Stoker's gothic novel 'Dracula', is under a fifteen-minute walk away. It's the same distance to the Church of Saint Mary – climb the famous one hundred and ninety-nine steps if you're feeling energetic. The Blue Flag West Cliff is just a twenty-minute saunter if you prefer a day at the beach.
Back at this stylish home, you'll find an unusual but well-designed layout; on the ground floor is the dining room and a living room, while the kitchen, second living room, and shower room are located on the first floor. Upstairs you'll find two bedrooms which, while small, make great use of the available space.
Enjoy a glass of wine on the front patio with its pots of colourful flowers – we loved the smell of the sea air out here. Later, relax in one of two living rooms with ocean blue colour scheme – read a book on the comfy leather armchair or take in the views over the town from the upper floors.
We love the attention to detail that’s been lavished on this place with its seafaring knick-knacks, such as anchors, model ships and nautical prints. If you don't feel like eating out, rustle up a seafood supper with fresh, local produce in the kitchen with its large gas range. This home is the perfect Whitby retreat for a small family or a group of friends.
