Cottage was very good with a couple of exceptions.. The patio furniture was NOT suitable. It was uncomfortable and impractical.. Toaster only did one side. Not a lot else wrong. The pub was close by and served food. (A better pub was a short drive away, The STABLES at cross butts.) Furniture was comfy. Bed was good. Kitchen was well equipped, (except the toaster) Great fun feeding the ducks. Cottage is centrally located for nice drives out.

The holiday cottage was excellent very clean and comportable.. Looking out onto the river esk and seeing the trains was very nice.A good local pub with nice meals a brilliant walk into whitby. So much to see and do although some places did not reopen till 1st march. A super relaxing break of 2 weeks would highly recommend.

Our second visit here, we love the setting and the house is just right.. No problem with parking in Whitby as the bus ride is perfect . The walk down the side of the railway line and river is lovely. Will definitely book here again. One drawback is the very noisy floor boards which can’t be avoided in the middle of the night.

This is our second time to this cottage and it was just as good as we remembered it, clean cosy and very welcoming.. There was milk in the fridge and some lovely biscuits (thank you). We love the view over the river Esk and having the ducks arrive on your doorstep each morning was brilliant for our 4 year old daughter. The only negative is the creaky floorboards on the landing/bathroom but this is a very small price to pay for a fantastic holiday. We hope to be back next year:-)

A nice cottage with an outstanding view.. The daily passage of steam powered trains was very nostalgic especially as they passed within yards of the kitchen window. Having stayed in several cottages we found that a comment book for visitors was useful. Desirable information such as good places to eat, interesting places to visit and nice walks were passed on. However, this is the first time this was not available and although we found our way around such information would have been appreciated on first arriving. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cottage.

This was the most user friendly cottage we have booked, easy access, ample parking, as soon as we walked in we knew it would be fine and you don't always feel that.. The lounge was extremely comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, we had a great week with no problems at all. Very well done, no clutter but had a friendly feel. We would definitely go back.

Fantastic holiday home, only thing missing was cleaning stuff.. The house was spotless, but I personally like to leave a place as I found it. I purchased cleaners so that I could do that.

We have stayed in this cottage previously so we knew what to expect.. It is in a lovely location and we would visit the same again.

The upstairs floor creaks very loudly to the extent that anyone going to the toilet in the middle of the night has the whole household awake..

Beautiful location and very clean, well equipped, lovely, tastefully furnished cottage with a lot of thoughtful extras like roses on the table, milk in the fridge and biscuits.. Very friendly neighbours and 2 minutes from the bus stop if you don't want to take the car into Whitby, though you can catch the train or easily walk in alongside the railway line. There is a lot of wildlife to watch as you relax with your glass of wine on the decking and stones to sit on to cool your feet in the river. The only niggle is extraordinarily squeaky floorboards which are impossible to sidestep, but the rest of the cottage makes up for this small deficiency. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage was nice and comfortable with nice views of river and steam trains.. It would have been better if the road bridge was mentioned as it was very busy with traffic early every morning.

The location was ideal, our little ones loved that they were able to see the steam train everyday and that they got to feed the ducks.. The cottage itself was fabulous, it was clean, tidy and all the essentials were to hand. Its a real hidden gem and we will be returning.

What a lovely base for our mini break, took our twin boys aged 6 and it was perfect, especially the steam train going past.. everything you need in the house and very clean, lovely decorated throughout was really home from home.

Beautiful little cottage right next to the river.. Amazing views. Location is perfect only 5 minutes drive to Whitby center( £7 in a taxi ) Floors a bit noisy but it’s the cutest little cottage I’ve been too. Would definitely book again soon!

One drawback, throughout it has extremely noisy floors.. The boards need firmly screwing down.
