Our week at the cottage was very good.. It is comfortable and well furnished. The village is lovely and the pub serves excellent food Friday, Saturday and Sunday to eat in or take away. It’s only 4 miles from Pickering but we were unlucky as roadworks caused a lengthy diversion. Fresh flowers and a bottle of wine made a lovely welcome gift. Lovely walks around the village as well.

Lovely cottage it is bigger on the inside than it looks, Very clean and well kept with all the needed amenities.. The only minor fault is that the garden is not enclosed for our dog which could be rectified with a fence an gate otherwise it could not be faulted. Enjoyable watching the horses train in the nearby paddock from the living room window.

Having spent many weeks in lockdown it was wonderful to have a weeks holiday in the the North York Moors. Dairy House is a very comfortable cottage set in a lovely little village. All preparations had been made to reassure us that the accommodation was free from and would remain safe from Covid. Unfortunately the village pub was not able to offer food, but with Pickering ten minutes down the road there was a choice of several establishments offering takeaway meals. The cottage is well equipped if you are happy to self cater. We know the area very well but still found new places to visit and a warm welcome was assured where ever we went. The only disappointment was that the railway was not due to start running again until 1st August.

Dairy House was cosy, surprisingly spacious and well- equipped.. Lots of plus points: log fire and generous basket of logs, secure bike store (for 2 bikes), quite a good selection of books / DVDs / games provided, location on the edge of the North York Moors near Pickering, Helmsley, Dalby Forest, Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, Scarborough and other places on the coast, village playground with zip wire and football pitch (in March the tennis net was down and the pitch was too muddy anyway for tennis), village pub. Everything went smoothly with Sykes: booking, payment, cottage instructions etc. Cottage owners were great and made a courtesy phone call to confirm details and sent us useful extra information about the cottage and local area. We even had a call from the local contact for the cottage after we'd arrived to check everything was ok. The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch. Highly recommended.

This is a very cosy and comfortable cottage.. Mary and Ann made us feel very welcome. The bed we slept in upstairs was very comfortable. Lovely garden to sit in. Peaceful surroundings. Plenty of nice walks and places to visit. Our dog loved it too - none of us wanted to leave.

I was particularly impressed to find that the owners had supplied replacement appliances for the kitchen in case of failure.. We managed to break the kettle switch, rang the Cleaner, and were guided to a 'secret' cupboard containing replacements. Absolutely marvellous service!

The Dairy House is a lovely place to stay.. It is very spacious and comfortable. The house is spotlessly clean and very welcoming. It is set in a quiet location next to a farm, and the surrounding scenery is beautiful. It has a lovely homely feel and is very well equipped. There is a downstairs bedroom and shower room which are very handy for disabled guests. There is a friendly pub nearby which serves good food. The owner is very helpful, as is the lady who looks after the place. Nothing is too much trouble, and a lot of thought has gone into making this house a real home from home. I would highly recommend Dairy House and would definitely stay there again.

Lovely cottage, plenty of space, very quiet setting, local pub just a few yards away and served lovely food, and very friendly.. A short drive to Pickering and about 45mins to the coast. Cottage was very well equipped and has a real fire to light on cold nights. Would recommend for a quiet break or a base to explore. Beautifully kept.

This is a delightful cottage, a real 'home from home' especially with the mixed Yorkshire weather. It is cosy and welcoming and would suit a larger group as well as just a couple their dog as we were. The village pub is just 50 yards away, friendly serving good beer local, home cooked food. Newton-upon-Rawcliffe is ideally placed 4 miles from Pickering which offers a variety of small, local food shops supermarkets. It also has take-away food outlets. The Coast at Whitby is a mere 20 miles drive away all surrounded by the North Yorkshire Moors.

An interesting, comfortable property in the centre of great walking area. Lovely cosy place to spend a day in, but also a quick easy drive to Pickering and onwards. The owner has given a lot of thought and attention to making the cottage work for guests. We enjoyed the log burner which was easy to get going. The utility area was great for bikes and muddy boots, and the village is very scenic for little strolls.

Lovely quiet location with comfortable rooms and a good friendly pub close by. The walking and scenery was spectacular. Loved the steam railway with the old fashioned stations. York was a good day out there was so much history to see and Whitby was fun especially if you like fish n chips. The local ales were all tasted most more than once. What a great holiday I will be back.
