Mrs Lofthouse, September 2020
If you want peace and quiet this is the place for you .. We loved it here and hopefully will come back .
Mr Smails, August 2020
From the moment we drove up to the gates, we were overwhelmed by the stunning landscape.. As we went down the drive we were greeted by the animals it was fantastic. We entered the cottage and greeted by complimentary Prosecco, Chocolate, milk, eggs, and dog treats. The cottage was spotless and very homely. Our hosts were lovely and nothing was to much trouble, albeit we needed nothing. Will definitely go back again thank you
Jopling, July 2020
Norah's Nook was a fantastic base for our holiday.. It had everything we needed to make our stay most enjoyable. All the little added extras left for us by the owner were very much appreciated.
This property deserves a twelve out of ten!!
Mrs Heading, November 2019
I have stayed at many cottages over the years and this one was by far the best I've stayed in.. The location was gorgeous and the cottage was very comfortable. The owner was very helpful, ( we had car trouble) friendly and accommodating. There was everything we needed including a bottle of prosecco and handmade chocolate on our arrival. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Five stars and more!!!
Mrs Rigden, November 2019
Lovely peaceful location had a very nice week enjoyed it very much.. Shame there is not a washing machine in place of the dishwasher.this is not a complaint just personal preference.will definitely be returning
Mrs Antrobus, November 2019
Lovely cottage, really cosy at night time with the log fire on.. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. Owners had left some arrival treats that were very welcome and brought the Alpacas for our little girl to meet on our arrival and gave us plenty of food to feed them throughout our stay. Everything really well thought out. Had an issue on the last night as the gas ran out and Sarita resolved swiftly and even brought some chocolate round for our little girl. Lovely stay and wouldn’t hesitate to book again when next in the area
If you want to get away from the mad world, this is the place. Ideally situated on the edge of the moors, you can literally do as little or as much as you want to. The cottage is very well equipped and there are always a few extra treats waiting for you, just to make sure you feel at home and making the perfect start to your time away. This is our fourth time here and back again in July. Another reason we keep coming back is how animal friendly the cottage is, we either come with our dogs or my horse. The paddocks and stables are second to none too. Thanks again and see you soon
We received a very warm welcome.. The owner has left us eggs, biscuits, milk, tea, coffee and sugar as well as a bottle of sparkling wine. Nora's Nook was better than we expected especially the free range chickens (and eggs) the horses and the alpacas. We have hired many of Sykes Cottages over the years but this one is the best yet. As we are getting too old to make long journeys, Nora's Nook was our swansong and it couldnt have been better. Thank you.
A beautiful retreat, complete with relaxing surrounding countryside, and a castle town up the road! Hosts are lovely, made our stay utterly chilled, fully recommend this amazing cottage!
Sarita and Dave were friendly and helpful without being intrusive.. Sarita provided extras like crackers, Prosecco, chocolates and cookies. As well as tea, coffee, milk and fresh farm eggs. Everything was good quality and not cheap. The cottage was tastefully decorated for Christmas without being over the top especially as we were escaping all the Christmas hustle and fuss. The cottage was well positioned for getting out and about the area. Animals are welcomed as long as they are well behaved, Helmsley was very picturesque and well worth a visit, expensive parking though. Pickering was lovely too. Would love to visit the cottage again and would highly recommend it as a place to get away from it all.
Perfect idyllic location, very quiet and the owners were on site, very friendly and very helpful..
Very well presented property, lovely location.. Every need was provided for - nice to find fresh milk in the fridge, coffee, tea, wine, fresh eggs and biscuits.
No reason why we would visit again. Highly recommended
Lovely area on a lovely farm enjoyed looking at all the animals and hens, great location owners were so nice and helpful
This is a lovely spot on a farmwith guanacos, sheep ponies and hens.. The owners left some eggs and milk to start me off. They were most kind and friendly.
My wife and I stayed at Nora's Nook for a week at the start of August.. Like others, we were pleased to find the complementary goodies (chocolates, milk, farm eggs, etc) as well as some treats for the dog. That was a nice touch.
The accommodation was perfect for us, providing everything we needed apart from food, and we felt at home immediately. The owners were friendly without ever being intrusive. They even let our dog play with one of their's on the final evening.
The location itself was great for exploring the North York Moors and its adjacent areas, but was set well away from the road and was quiet, perfect for relaxation and for those looking for a quiet break away from the humdrum of everyday ife.
It's located on a working farm, so lots of animals and wildlife, with chickens and sheep roaming free. The dog loved them!
A truly excellent holiday. Highly recommended. 5 stars out of 5 (at least).
Lovely accomodation, setting and position would definitely recommend.. Owner very friendly and helpful, Loved the lambs!!
Loved the accommodation, very clean, quiet and beautiful with easy access to good off road riding.. Owner lived on site and was extremely helpful, kind and accommodating. Our horses were happy which meant we were happy
More than highly recommended
Excellent cottage.. Owners made you feel very welcome. Would highly recommend this property
Yes it was a marvelous place , what a welcome we had and such a lovely place to be, wonderful weather and a fantastic area to be in.. Norah Nook is so beautiful and comfortable. A peaceful retreat and fresh clean air, we took our little dog with us and the owners had left a packet of treats for her. a bottle of wine for us and a lovely bar of chocolate from Hutton le Hole chocolate factory, milk for tea coffee and biscuits. A very welcoming start to our Holiday. Just the ticket.
Really relaxing environment and super friendly and helpful owners, PERFECT HOLIDAY! Whole experience was LET DOWN by the constant bombardment of E-mails from SYKES WANTING ME TO BOOK WHEN I ALREADY HAD!!!
I came here last year with my horse, it was that good I couldn't wait to stay again with my husband and dogs. Needless to say, we were not disappointed. I can't recommend this place enough, fantastic cottages but more importantly we were made to feel welcome and you cant put a price on that. My husband absolutely loved our break and I am already booked in again in May with my horse. Thank you so much
Norah's Nook was clean, cosy and comfortable.. Over the years we've stayed in many self catering cottages and this is one of the best equipped. We found everything we needed in the cottage so we only needed clothes and food which makes things so much easier than rattling up the A1 with washing up liquid, toilet rolls and tin foil. We had dreadful weather but were warm with the heating on and enjoyed the log burner. Despite the weather there was plenty to keep us occupied and we found suitable walks, saw and heard lots of wildlife, though we would love to be there in the sunshine, make use of the sun beds and do the walks from the door. We enjoyed the hospitality, generosity and kindness of the owners and would love to return. This area is truly beautiful, full of history, stories, and excellent tea shops! The Easter weather this year certainly hasn't put us off. Oh, and the fresh farm eggs are absolutely delicious!
Mr and Mrs Setterington very helpful, kind and generous.. with everything even provided a welcome pack of basic essentials which included a treat for the dog.
Norah's Nook is a great place to stay, excellent location and the owner was a great host, can't fault the place.
Norah's Nook is in a fantastic setting, on a small working farm. Extremely tranquil, the perfect place to relax and enjoy Yorkshire.
The owners was lovely and their welcoming attitude was great. We will definitely be returning.
Norah's Nook was in a beautiful location, with excellent walks and quaint villages close by. The owner was very welcoming.
Norah's Nook is a very relaxing, quiet and comfortable cottage in the countryside it is a great place to not be disturbed. Plenty of good pubs and meals within a few miles by car. Couldn't do with anything else. Based on a small 'farm' but no noisy animals with a friendly and helpful owner on site.
We have just returned after a fabulous week here . This is probably our 6th or 7th visit and it suits us perfectly. Dave and Serita are great hosts who just carry on in the background but are always on hand to recommend a Pub for lunch or to find out what's on in the vicinity.
Can't recommend this place enough.
We particularly liked the peace and quiet at Norah's Nook, its location to the moors and the distance to other places of interest.
Norah's Nook is very attractive and is in a really pretty peaceful location. It has absolutely everything you need for a happy holiday, the owner has given a lot of thought into making sure you enjoy your stay, they obviously care a lot!. The weather was very cold so it was nice to have a log fire and the heating on in the evening, we were lovely and cosy! It must be lovely in warm weather to sunbathe in the courtyard, we will be back to try it for ourselves.
The weather was dreadful but the cottage was so cosy and comfortable that it didn't matter. We lacked nothing and would definitely recommend the cottage. We would love to visit again in better weather!
The location was fantastic, we have never been in a self catering cottage which was as well equipped, there was just nothing missing. The owners were on hand for help when needed - just a wonderful weekend.
A wonderful cottage and very helpful owners who made our holiday perfect.
We found Norah's Nook to be very cosy, comfortable, clean and with everything we needed for our stay. We would certainly book up at Norah's Nook again.
The holiday was excellent. Lovely hospitality, the owners were very helpful and friendly. The cottage and its location were superb, relaxing and very dog friendly. We would definitely recommend to friends and family.
We chose this cottage because it was recommended by friends. We were not disappointed! The drive to Norah's Nook takes you through classic Yorkshire countryside. The cottage is well appointed , clean and warm ( provided by the wood burner in the corner) and is located on a working farm which adds to the feeling of getting away from it all ! A perfect location for walking and really looking forward to coming back. Well worth a visit.
The cottage has everything, there was more cutlery in the kitchen than we had at are own home! Had fantastic views and the fire was brilliant. Would definitely recommend to anyone, it was very relaxing. Gorgeous.
Beautiful location. Friendly hosts, everything you could think of is provided, and more. Very quiet and relaxing.
Peaceful and restful
Very relaxing. Excellent location near Moors and Coast.
Norah's Nook a lovely cottage, with welcoming hosts.
Beautiful little cottage. Very friendly hosts. Loved our time here.
My husband and I stayed here with our little dog in August and had a wonderful time. We were greeted by the owner on arrival, and found a welcome pack indoors, which included a local paper, milk and other essentials. The owner was very welcoming, told us everything we needed to know about the cottage and helped us with our suggested holiday itinerary - good places to eat, walks across the moors from our doorstep and other handy hints.
The cottage is pretty outside, well decorated, very comfortable and clean, and the weather enabled us to make use of the two very comfy sun loungers on the patio outside!
The cottage is well located for eating and drinking pubs with lots of pretty villages and towns nearby, such as Helmsley and Hutton le Hole.
We really enjoyed our holiday and will definitely be back, thank you for sharing this little piece of paradise.
Very friendly owners and perfectly situated for seeing the area.
Excellent position in the county making for easy travel to various places of interest. The owner was very informative about the area.
