The house, Blinkbonny, was exactly what we hoped it would be like.. The information was totally accurate and the finishings and fabric were of quality. The equipment in the house all worked and the variety of implements meant that it was a real home from home. It was an excellent situation for the day trips we wanted to undertake. Staithes, Runswick Bay, Sandsend, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Ravenscar NT Coastal Centre, Scarborough were all within reach. Lealholm well worth a visit for Stepping Stones, Garden Centre and Tea Shop. Falling Foss and May Beck circular walk impressive. Being able to play games after making evening meals was such a bonus. Thank you to Rachel and Jonathan for attending to the fine details.

A beautifully located cottage.. Everything we needed and more. Comfy and a warm welcome. The kind owner was quick to respond and help with great understanding when a small problem arose. We highly recommend Blinkbonny to everyone. It was our 2nd visit. Looking forward to the 3rd.

Blinkbonny is a comfortable and cosy cottage in a wonderful location, close to the coast with lovely walks from the door.. Good public transport links so you can leave the car at home. The owners made us feel very welcome with the welcome pack and festive touches. Would highly recommend Blinkbonny.

Blinkbonny is a lovely cottage, and exceeded our expectations - from the welcome tray to the little touches that made it just like home! The location is lovely. Very quiet with lots of lovely place to visit nearby!

Nice cottage and the local pub served excellent food.. The location was more hilly than we expected and we found walking to the village of Glaisdale a bit too much for us. Easy to get to other areas on the train and we found a lot of relatively flat walks to enjoy. Local pubs etc seem geared towards the start of April/Easter to fully open for a lunch service so be aware.

Blinkbonny was a superb cottage.. Clean, well equipped perfect location. Jonathan couldn't have been more helpful. The welcome tea tray was a lovely welcoming touch. We will be returning.

Blinkbonny was perfect for us in every way.. It was a very comfortable base for us to explore the area, mainly by foot due to the proximity of the Coast to Coast walk, which was one of our main reasons for choosing this cottage. Being so close to the train station for easy access to Whitby and the surrounding villages was an added bonus. We definitely intend to return.

November 2018
Had a wonderful week away from it all this November in Blinkbonny.. The cottage is wonderfully situated in the lovely village of Glaisdale, just up the road from the local pub and the train station. The cottage has everything you could need and is very cosy. The owners Jonathan and Rachel leave a welcome pack, of milk, local cake, Rachel's home made marmalade and a Whitby Gazette and are very helpful. There are also provisions in the cottage to use if you want to use them such as tea bags, coffee and all the essential cooking equipment etc. The stairs are quite steep but that wasn't a problem for us and to be expected in character properties. It was so quiet and peaceful and the views were stunning. There are many walks in the area with the added bonus that a lot of the local villages have a train station if you didn't fancy walking home. Whitby is at the end of the line too, so twice we caught the train there and back. I would highly recommend stopping in Blinkbonny.

September 2018
Lovely clean cosy cottage.. Very well equipped kitchen. The stairs are a little on the steep side which could be a problem for those less mobile. On street parking was no problem and for most of the week we had 2 cars. The pub at the bottom of the hill was very dog friendly. Proper enclosed rear garden which is very important to us as dog owners. The train was very useful to travel into Whitby.

The cottage was ; really spacious, and with plenty of storage space.. The kitchen was well equipped ; including cleaning materials, (which are sometimes lacking in cottages) There was a plentiful supply of local literature, pamphlets, maps, walks etc., and a comprehensive folder of cottage information. Also a huge array of books. The views were lovely, in a peaceful location. we were able to walk from the cottage in different directions, on 3 days to save us from driving. The owners kindly left delicious home made marmalade, a local cake, tea, coffee, and milk. Thank you. The area and cottage to be recommended.

Sykes colleagues really helped out when I mistakenly booked another cottage, and quickly supported in booking Blinkbonny.. The cottage was fantastic, with the interior cosy, comfortable and yet modern enough to satisfy my two daughters. We struggled to work out the refuse bin contents, but otherwise no problems at all! The cake and tea ready for us when we arrived was a great welcoming touch.

A very comfortable, characterful cottage in a beautiful location.. The cottage was well equipped with lovely bedrooms and a great bathroom. The stone walled yard was full of pretty flowering tubs and was good for eating outside and relaxing in the sun. We enjoyed a fantastic week exploring the beautiful moors and coastal villages. We would definitely recommend .

The cottage is in an ideal location for walking with a lovely dog friendly pub just 2 minutes walk away which serves good food.. The cottage is warm and cosy with everything you need provided. It is clean and homely and we settled in quickly. There are some lovely walks from the cottage and Whitby, Staithes and Goathland are not far away. We had a great week.

Lovely clean homely cottage, fully equipped with everything you need.. Lovely small walled garden, like a sun trap, with garden furniture. Views from cottage beautiful. Ideal location for visiting coast and villages, e.g. Whitby, staithes, robin hoods bay, goathland and Rosedale etc. Arncliffe arms a few doors away, handy for lunch, evening meal or just a drink.

Blinkbonny is a lovely cottage in Glaisdale and is perfectly situated to explore the Dales. The cottage has everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The pub is 100 yards away and the village has a very good butchers and a village shop, although the shop in nearby Lealholm has a far better range of everyday goods.

October 2015
The holiday cottage was in a lovely, quiet location but only a short walk to the local train station, which had several trains running to Whitby and back each day. There were plenty of walks from the door step which took us to some of the other villages in the local area.
