Sands End Cottage is an end-terrace cottage situated in the village of Marske-by-the-Sea in North Yorkshire. Hosting two bedrooms; a double, and a twin, along with a bathroom, this property can sleep up to four people. Inside you will also find a kitchen/diner, and a sitting room with an electric fire. To the outside is off road parking for two cars. Resting in a lovely location with the beach close by, Church Street is a heart-warming cottage in a memorable part of England.

The coastal village of Marske-by-the-Sea offers long, wide, sandy beaches and a selection of shops and pubs. Places of interest nearby include Captain Cook's birthplace, the mining museum, and the Zetland Lifeboat Museum, and within reach is the North York Moors, and many inland villages and fishing villages including Staithes and Runswick Bay.

Our party of four adults and one small dog stayed here for five nights in August and the cottage suited us perfectly. It is very clean and well-equipped and just a short walk through the delightful Marske Community Garden to get to the beach. Perfect for a peaceful holiday with great countryside and coastline to explore. There is an open all hours Sainsbury’s a two minute walk away and, in the opposite direction, Vicarage Plaice an excellent fish and chip shop. The parking space alongside the cottage is a great bonus and is a generous space. Our Honda CRV was able to get into it fine, but ease of access was at times a bit dependant upon how others had parked in the street. The owners have clearly gone to some lengths to provide a good experience for guests. There was a very pleasant welcome pack and also lots of suggestions (and detailed routes) for good walks in the area. This was our first visit to Marske and we would like to visit it again.

Comfortable, lovely decor, fully equipped accommodation . Spotless. A dog friendly cottage with a secure back garden for our dog with a parking space. Close to shops, a dog friendly pub who serves food nearby and a short walk to the gorgeous beach. We will definitely be going back to Sands End cottage and will be recommending it to family & friends. We had a lovely peaceful & chill out holiday.

So peaceful with everything you need for a relaxing break away from it all. Well furnished with comfy beds. The beach is a 10 minute stroll through the Valley Gardens or you can go in the other direction to the village centre. Marske is a really friendly village with plenty of independent shops and cafe's. We especially liked the Dog House Café and the Ship public House

We had such a lovely stay, cottage clean, everything there that we needed and local information left out for us which we used. Owner provided a lovey welcome pack including doggy treats. 5 minutes from beach and other direction 5 mins to shops including a Sainsbury's small store. Locals were friendly, the Ship pub was great fun , we had such a laugh with them. Our dog loved every minute of it. Parking is a bit tricky straight off the bat but once used to the positioning it is simple enough and lots of space. Would highly recommend this cottage, modern but also homely. Nicely located to visit National Trust or/and English Heritage sites including Whitby Abbey.

The cottage was spotless everything you could possibly need. Great welcome pack plus treat for the dog. The location is great for the beach and shops and it is so quiet we had a great nights sleep,our dog also loved it here it was her first time on a beach and she loved it. Having a parking space is also a must for us as well as a sitting out area all in all it is a great cottage,

Lovely cottage.. Had everything we needed. Nice welcome pack much appreciated.We loved it was so close to the beach, our dog loved the walks. Building work was going on but didn’t disturb us and not fault of owners.

The cottage was warm, clean and had everything we needed.. Some local building work is still ongoing and was noisy and dusty, though not the fault of the owners of Sands cottage. We enjoyed sharing the cottage with our family and grandson and would be happy to return.

There is a lot of building work going on in the area with heavy trucks and skip lorry going in and out the street is very narrow and it was very noisy..

Sands end was a lovely cottage so close to local amenities and the beach, which we visited everyday except 1.. We will definitely use again if the nearby family are full which they were this year.

Cottage located close to town centre and within 5 minutes walk to the beach. Everything you could want and more besides, dog friendly, spotless and very comfortably. Had a great week and will return the perfect base to explore the area. Lots of information including maps for a selection of walks and attractions .

This is a really nice comfortable cottage with all the things you would need.. There was a lovely welcome pack and the kitchen has been finished to a really high standard. Would definitely recommend the cottage, it is is the middle of the village but tucked away in a quiet street.

Very quiet and peaceful location yet very convenient for local transport so park car on arrival and not touch it again until departure.. Everthing your likely to want, shop, pub, beach restaurant or bus along the coast all within five or ten minute walk. Goodies on arrival very welcoming.

Amazing Cottage the advertising pictures are actually true to form.. Its well maintained and equipped with everything you could need. The welcome pack was such a special touch. The Cottage is situated in a lovely little village with plenty of shops and pubs. A great base for exploring the surrounding areas and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Would definitely recommend Sandsend cottage and will definitely to booking again.

The cottage is very well appointed and has all the usual mod cons.. It was very clean and bright, the girls loved using the jacuzzi and it was a nice comfy place to relax after being out for the day. The beds were great and having off road parking was a bonus especially as the road is narrow. The town has a wide range of shops and other services and the beach is only a few minutes walk away. The Ship Inn is just around the corner with live entertainment and fantastic meals and not too expensive. The welcome pack is a nice touch and the cottage has plenty of outdoor space to chill and have that last glass before bed. Would recommend as a base for exploring the area or just to relax and have a quiet week.

A clean well presented cottage, the parking is a bonus, the owner has thought of everything, the human's welcome pack was appreciated as was the dog one (a nice and unexpected twist).. The only downside at the moment is having two separate lots of building work in close proximity, this is out of the owners control so is not reflected in our excellent score.

This cottage was everything and more.. Clean. Had it’s own parking which is a lot, you do not have to struggle to find parking in the tiny street outside the cottage. There was a lockable shed for our bicycles. It had everything we needed

We really enjoyed our stay at Sand's end cottage.. Lovely gift pack on arrival, lovely touches with flowers and a few accessories in the bathroom. Everything you could need was there, it is a very thought out place. Extremely comfortable in every way. Relaxing as felt home touches very pleasant. The beach literally 5 mins walk. Which allows dogs and is a beautiful sandy beach where you can walk for miles and then enjoy a coffee at Saltburn beach cafe and stroll back at your own leisure. Lovely quiet location,Marske, nice for relaxing. Plenty of places to go to nearby and not too far places for sight seeing if you nip off in the car or a bit of retail therapy. Later fish & chips from the local chippy are amazing, taking back to the cottage and sit outside the cottage at the patio set provided, enjoying a glass of wine with them. Equally nice in the morning having breakfast and a coffee enjoying the morning sun and making plans for the new days adventure. Just can't fault it well done to the owners. We will for sure be returning:)

We were both stunned by the quality of the accommodation.. If we didn't know differently it was as though we were the first occupants immediately after a complete refurbishment - everything was as new and the quality of all fixtures and fittings was superb.The thoughtfulness of the owners in providing everything we needed with such style was heart-warming as was the welcome pack included. We were also impressed by the owner's message to say the property was ready over an hour before the designated time. It was a real treat to stay there and we would not hesitate to return in the future. Consequently we are now actively looking at other Sykes properties in other parts of the country to holiday with friends who were impressed with what we have told them about this holiday.
