Great little terraced cottage, perfect for two people for a cosy romantic getaway.. Nice local pub that serves great food. Ripon and Masham nearby for shopping/markets. Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes about 50 mins away and we’ll worth a visit if you’re a cheesaholic like us!

Excellent cottage in a very friendly village ideally placed to explore the Yorkshire Dales.. The facilities at the cottage are excellent and we felt very comfortable and homely for our week's stay. On our last day, unfortunately, the front door key became stuck in the lock, rang Sykes Cottages up and dealt with immediately, owner rang to explain and apologise, door fitters arrived in a couple of hours and fitted new lock, excellent service which did not in any way detract from our stay.

Stayed in many many cottages over the years, this was a nice pleasant cottage in a nice village.. However I do have a few gripes unfortunately. The cottage was clean but not spotless, the fridge freezer needs a good clean, the freezer part needs defrosting, looked like something had spilled on the ice , wasn't pleasant. The microwave hadn't been cleaned, didn't fancy cleaning it before using it , good job as the plates were not suitable for the microwave. Had to wash a couple of pans before using them too and drinking glasses. The cupboards and handles around the cooker were greasy and dusty. I'm really sorry to leave this review, but having stayed in cottages in the past this really didn't live up to good expectations. The village is lovely apart from the very busy road running through it, traffic does go at speed and it's a shame. The residents really should try to campaign for traffic calming measures. Again sorry for the not so great review but I am honest and wouldn't return

Cottage was very clean, had good facilities.. Close to the local shops. A cosy place to spend a week or 2. Good outside space. Good wifi signal, not the owners fault but no mobile phone signal in the cottage (we were on O2). If you walk down to the church you should be able to get a signal. Again not the owners fault but quite a busy road outside. The cottage had clearly been thoughtfully furnished. The bathroom was very spacious and good quality however it was a little difficult getting into it, if you are not too mobile it would be quite awkward to access.

Lovely little cottage for 2.. The stand out thing for us was comfort - the bed was extremely comfortable- I slept really well, as were the settee & armchair downstairs. Love the size of the bedroom, plus plenty of storage for our clothes. Excellent bathroom, very spacious, my only suggestion would be for a more powerful shower. Parking is good too. The one thing missing is microwaveable crockery!! A microwave is supplied- but nothing you can put in there! Would definitely recommend this little cottage & will definitely be going back!
