A trip to one of the many market towns is a must where you can pick up local produce from a farmers market or browse the independent shops. Hay on Wye (25 miles) is famed for books and the annual international literary festival, and the market towns of Ross on Wye (7.5 miles), Monmouth (15 miles) and Leominster (20 miles) all welcome you with an eclectic range of independent shops.
