The nearby hamlet of Hawlsey is situated high above the village of Lydbrook, a peaceful location surrounded by ancient woodlands perfect for both walkers and cyclists. Lydbrook offers a selection of pubs along with a well stocked village store and access on the Wye Valley Walk. There is plenty to see and do, the River Wye for canoeing, wild swimming, and paddle boarding (1.5 miles), and Cannop Cycle Centre for mountain biking (2.5 miles). Other attractions include Clearwell Caves, Perry Grove Railway, Puzzlewood, Go Ape, Hopewell Colliery and Dean Heritage Museum (all within 10 miles). The cottage is set down a private driveway which levels onto a parking area and is accessed via the landscaped gardens where a small porch offers space to kick off muddy walking boots. From here, walk into the social heart of the home the large open plan living space with cosy seating, a crackling wood burning stove and a Smart TV. This area opens onto the kitchen, well equipped with all you need to whip up group feasts, which can be enjoyed from the stylish and airy diner in the next room.
